Finally opened this guy up.
I found him pretty underwhelming.
Imo it would've been better in a matte white finish instead of the weird gray color they went with .

I think he looks fantastic but I wish they would have updated and improved his articulation . For that reason I didn't want to spend the $$$.

This figure does look fantastic In my opinion and I'd even go so far as to say it's my favorite Mk. VII repaint. I absolutely do agree that it would have been great for them to add at least a few of the newer articulation points found in most new armors now. There really was no excuse using the plastic panties when they already updated the Mk. VII panties for Disco. They also should have incorporated the extending shoulder barrels. My guess is that the Mk. VII mold will stay as is until they finish all the parts needed for the HPP suits that use Mk. VII parts. Then they will finally release the diecast Mk. VII as their final diecast remake. I image that Mk. II, Mk. IV and Mk. I will be made before VII assuming they finish the HPP armors by then.

Still my reason for revitalizing this old forgotten thread was to say how much I adore this paint scheme. I've had mine since buying it at STGCC 2016 (September) and every time I look at it or repose it or add another armor to my display, I find myself really appreciating this repaint. Natural light gives it a totally different look, not a necessarily better look, just different. In my opinion it looks best at night under warm LEDs. Still, those panties though, why oh why couldn't they have scrapped the rubber in favor for the hard plastic with hinged flaps? Gah.

Hi do the missile pods on the side of the legs pop open like the MK 7 to show the missiles ?

No. The original Mk VII didn't either. They have separate pods, but Sub-Zero doesn't come with any. I bought some extra pods from ebay and painted them black for the Stealth VII. You could try the same, but I think the white will be harder to match.

Thanks I might see if I can find them and then do the same , but ahve to wait to get compressor for my air brush will make it easier to paint . I think priming them with grey primer (that can cover most things) and then doing a flat white and then a glossy white I might be able to get it really close .

I photographed this guy a while back. Brought him out a few days ago. Still an amazing figure.

Knowing Hot Toys, they could very well revisit this idea after they release the diecast Mark VII from the first Avengers film. You just know the VII is coming since they've updated the previous Marks (main armors) in diecast.
