Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Hey Slick, criticizing isn't the same as complaining

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

I'm checking this post every day since months ago just waiting for the announcement of this maginificent figure. Please hot toys! Release Ripley soon!
Do you think that after this waiting period, they will sourprise us with an improved prototipe? The second one is perfect for me but who knows...may be they will make some kind of improvement to make the figure still more ripley than it is now:)

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

It's possible.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

I hope so! I will absolutely buy it!!!

Well I'm not talking about constructive criticism. I am talking about a focus on the negatives and actual complaining. For instance 'the elephant in the room is a thin neck' or 'thin armes' or a little 'too much hair'... on a prototype. Well first, the body is probably some kind of standard Hot Toys body... if people want a redesigned body for every new figure it's kind of hard also to criticize price levels. I don't see why we as a starting point doesn't trust that HT would actually do their best to produce the best figure possible within a price range. It's the negative focus I'm talking about - instead of talking about half assed efforts already after seeing the first prototype I think this figure shows the significant progress HT has made.

See, I like this kind of comment! :goodpost:

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Inaccurate?

Sounds about right.

DiFabio, this kind of comment is what I call complaining. You have every right to complain - after all it's the internet - but just the same I have the right to say I don't find these comments constructive - especially when it comes to a figure that looks as good as this one does. Sorry.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

We were talking about Ripley's butt. It was all in jest. Chill my son.

Well the neck, hair, likeness and armes does connect with the butt somehow... but it's not the butt comments I'm talking about. ...by the way I don't see how I can be more chill while still actually saying something. Would a smiley help? :)

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

239 pages for 2 prototipes...this figure insterest a lot.hope that hot toys read this forum and post recent news or new pictures about it. I'm afraid but I think we will get more information next year...:)

Listen to this guy.. :lol

For instance nothing. We've been discussing this figure - pros & cons, for ages now. How about reading up before soap boxing.

Myself & others (give or take) have been on board since day one - warts & all, so move along chappy. :wave

Don't be offended you guys, I didn't mean it so hard. Sorry, I should of course have read through your 240 pages of comments on a prototype before commenting. :wink1: ...so you can get back to it now. :yess:

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Bumping this thread to the top because "Alien" Ripley deserves it.

As a couple of others have already mentioned, this is one figure that is on my "MUST BUY" list. It would be a shame if Hot Toys did not release this figure.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

You really think they'll use up valuable marketing real estate (meaning for the holidays) by previewing this figure to the 50-75 people that want it rather than presell another Star Wars trooper or Iron Man to thousands...?

If this comes at all, my guess is it will be during a lull, like March/April, after the holidays and before the summer film hype.

That said, I wish they'd preview it tomorrow because I'm one of the 50 who will buy it sight-unseen.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

After Returns Batman next in line for me would be Ripley (if she makes it to preorder). But I am pretty sure that there is a legitimate business reason for delay or even cancellation of Ripley!

Let us not forget the long silent period between Bespin Luke and what we have now!
