I honestly can't believe there are only a handful of bad quality photos of the new Ripley?! Surely Hot toys should be doing some damage control? I love the figure and at first I was disappointed by the non REAL hair but since then I prefer due to the fact it looks less pube-y

That's the only thing I did like about the hair.

I like the expression.. I think it looks curiously fearful.. like she's looking at an alien. I don't see sad.

Ripley will show up at random, just like Marty and Batman Returns did eventually.


Like Marty and Batman however, it won't be worth the wait. Her figure will go up, it'll be a mediocre, half assed release, you'll get it and that will be it. The new line will pretty much start and end with just Ripley. Honestly, after everyone has this in hand they'll probably look back and think "man, the most exciting thing about this figure was seeing it at that one show years ago". I don't feel an anticipation for what they make anymore. Last cool thing they did that surprised me was the Damaged Robocop 2-pack with the surprise Alex Murphy.

Of course. I meant non-alien characters, like the humans.

They'll always make a random Alien or Predator here or there. Hell, just look at that ridiculous "Alien Girl" thing they did a few months back.

Hard for me to see how you can not count the alien as part of the line? Unless you just want to prove your point. ...the Alien Girl on the other hand is part of another (hopeless) line. But of cause the alien is a part of the Alien line.

I was really excited about the "real fabric" hair. It made it look more lifelike. But Im sure once real Promo shots are released Ill like the sculpted hair too. I just need this figure on my shelf already! 2 YEARS now and we are still getting the same ol "Stay Tuned" reply from Hot Toys?? Sooooo disappointing!

I was would rather the real hair too. But hey, what's a Hot toys for without a few mods??....

All this staying tuned is really paying off.

I agree. They have turned me off them big time with their actions in the past 2 to 3 years. The last thing i got excited about was also the battle damaged robocop pack. Since then hot toys have pretty much been a letdown not only on the alien front but on the back to the future and bvs front also with zero news on the flying delorean, future marty, doc or the bvs batmobile. Pretty much they were the only things i was excited about and now it looks like they won't even be released. Hot toys concentrates too much now on marvel and star wars to the cost of everything else.

Its ridiculous how much they concentrate on those licenses with constant re-releases and yet they don't even cover the licenses which once made them so popular. They really haven't done anything worthy of note for aliens, terminator or predator in the last two years or so and looks like they won't be anytime soon.

The problem with that much sculpted hair is it looks too thick. But Hot Toys are so good with paint apps hopefully they can make it look more realistic and less toy like.
