Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Han is a DX? Since when? To the SW threads I go.

Batman Returns might not be DX15 afterall.

The eyes, Indy, cover your eyes!

No, I just mentioned that because the eyes on both of the figs are now looking up. What gives, HT?

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Would PERS be possible with non sculpted hair though?

Her eyes have moved....so DX?

Its being lit from the bottom with a harsh bright light, that maybe why it looks so different. The last one had much softer lighting. Hold a torch under your chin and look in the mirror :horror

The headscuplt sculpt is least of her problems. That stare in the sky is gonna be awkward to pose, because no matter how u do it shes gonna be looking up. Guess you could pose her checking the ceiling vents or something.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Yeah, it's looks pretty awful at this latest show.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

It might be a PERS head after all - who knows. :huh

That frizzy hair still ****s me though. :lol

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

pers not only do not like very much as I think its an unneeded gimmick, but also if this is pers
how will u access the back of the head with all that barbie hair :lecture

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

I'll wait for final pre-order pictures and prices to decide; though right now I'm leaning more towards Alien Ripley over Power Loader Ripley. I think it just really works all around, and if they come out with an Alien HT, it'll fit nicely with that. Plus, I can see the power loader pricing being quite high in the end.

The new pictures aren't the greatest, but no pictures really are. It all depends on lighting and how things are shot. As for the eyes, I can't see the upwards look sticking. If they're not PERS (which, as mentioned above, would be tough with the hair) then it's likely just an error at the show. The ONLY reasoning for it would be if they're making an Alien and expect everyone to pose her looking up at it...but that'd be bizarre, and quite unlikely, as that's assuming too much. I wouldn't read too much into it right now, as it's probably just something that will change.

On the hair front, I'm fine with it. I think it looks good, and the friz isn't out of control either. I mean, she has been battling a Xenomorph for a while by this point...it's going to look a bit out of place! :lol Plus, it's not like she styled it beforehand either...it just falls where it falls with her from the start!

Those who don't want to deal with it will just have to wait for Alien 3 Ripley! :)

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

None of the figures from this show have looked good, to be honest.

It's like knockoff central at this place lol.

I have to agree with you with BD Robo, Ripley and Hans Boots!! Chewbacca looks fine to me. Ripley' cloth do not look fitted at all!
