Damn, I want a Natalie Portman figure, but I don't care about Star Wars...
What should I do ??!
I guess I can easily find clothes to make her look like her character in the movie ANNIHILATION but...not especially an iconic look 😓
There are some other Natalie Portman headsculpts out there but the Hot Toys Padme is probably the best I’ve seen so far.

I have a 3rd party set from the Thor 2 movie when she’s wearing the blue dress - that sculpt is only OK.

There were several Matilda figures that work with Leon/Professional.

Got mine today, very nice figure and the likeness is very good in hand.

Great pics! Thank you for sharing. She looks really good here!

What about the Thor Love and Thunder figure? That one also has a pretty great Natalie Portman sculpt as well. It might actually be this SW Padme sculpt repurposed for her look in Thor; which may explain why some folks are saying this Padme sculpt looks a bit older than she did in AOTC

Don’t really understand the neck connector on this one. Ultimately I guess it doesn’t matter much but still odd.
Yea, seems a bit lazy on HT part. I don't see why they couldn't do a magnetic neck like they've done for TDK Batman, Darth Maul and others.

It looks like a new design so I’m not sure you could call it laziness. More like ignorant stupidity.
It's new to female sculpts, but it just sort of looks like a scaled down version of the light & battery compartment head peg system they used on the JL/ZSJL Superman sculpts to me rather than a whole new system made just for this.

Yes the SuperDuck set ? I was thinking about buying this and put the Hot TOys head, but the hair won't be accurate.

I'd punch you if only the OT existed. However today's SW I can relate. ;)
To be fair, I like the old trilogy...but these movies don't even exist anymore. You can't watch Return of the Jedi without this new dumb Vader crying "noooo" at the end, ruining his mysterious and ambiguous personnality. But I guess it wasn't clear enough for the audience that he had an internal conflict without making him yelling like a baby.

And also, if I start now with a Padme figure...I'll have to buy other figures. You can't have only a Padme to represent the Star Wars franchise. You have to have a Vader, a Luke, a Leia...
So...like someone said :

Got mine 👍

The new neck peg is a pretty terrible design

So is the white part all one piece, or is there a ball joint connecting them? It kind of looks to me like the top "block" just replaces the standard plug usually found in the head and it's designed to stop below the adjustable eyes. If so the bottom half is just a (white) standard ball joint connector.

So when are we gonna start seeing custom ‘Battle Arena’ Padmé figures? I have mine on order but plan to customize her to that specific look.

Wouldn't you need a custom arm and mid section as well? Maybe that is why they gave us the funky neck connector so you can't easily make your own with another body and instead have to buy theirs. Or - Disney doesn't want Padme sexualized aka "Huttslayer Leia".

Very likely the last sentence of this comment.

It's never happening from HT - ever, imo. Because Gawd forbid we see her belly button..

Customize away.

I don’t blame them in the slightest if that’s the case.

I hate that change soooo much!!
Lucas must really think his audience are morons or he became overly obsessed with his ‘it’s like poetry- It rhymes’ idea and figured someone must scream Noooo in every movie for the saga to seem connected.

First time I heard that Noo was with my mate who’s also a big Star Wars fan and we just looked at each other and went ‘what the **** was that?!’

I mean, this is an original Lucas-era female SW character. But he sold it and any interpretation of how she's marketed is completely up to the owners of said property.

That property owner being Disney. They'll not allow a even slightly visual interpretation of a female character (of which they have full control over) to be viewed "in that light".

They've made it painfully obvious they are against that.. direction.. Fan backlash/profits be damned.

They will not budge. We're never getting a battled damaged Padme. Ever. And HT obeys the license restrictions. Especially when the SW license they're paying for is so rediculously expensive.

BD Padme shows too much skin.

InB4 Disney Tarzan where there's a metic f-ton of adverts showing a man in a loin cloth doing random stuffs.

The "ABC" community are the writers and show runners of this franchise. Take from that what you will.

Showing a bellybutton is sexual now ?
In a world where women deplore that they can't go out in a t-shirt in summer without dumb men sexualizing them, let's declare that YES in fact it is sexual to show a bit of skin and women should cover themselves all the time...
Wow...what a progressive evolution. The world just become dumber and dumber.

This guy shows the neck thing

OOF !
What a terrible design !

This is weird because they did the removable hair with Jyn Erso. Not for moving the eyes (it's for the helmet) but it can work to remove the hair without being too noticeable.
