Ya know, if I didn’t already have the Sideshow version I’d get the HONÕ version. As flimsy as the SS body is (and that belt, good grief) it cuts a more imposing silhouette, more “stoic”, I suppose. There are things I like about this over Sideshow’s and vice versa.

-The Present Toys version is cool, but I guess there’s a trade off of “panel lines vs weird chest detail”. The unhelmeted sculpt looks like Nick Nolte on Day 3 of a 4 Day Bender.

-Does anyone have this one from back in the day 😄? It might be a dinosaur compared to today’s figures but a pretty good effort from Medicom.

Hmm, I guess it really comes down to who’s purple undies and panel lines you like the most.
Yeah, I still have mine...like what was mentioned, the bodies are very frail. My Venom's left shoulder basically disintegrated. Luckily, it's not noticeable.

Looks nice and fits well with Wolverine. They could have made it so that there was swap out face plates at the very least. Really needs a neutral expression included.

This reminds me of when they did Zod from MOS. Just having gritted teeth as the sole expression for the figure is lame to do. Also why does Magneto get fabric short shorts but Wolverine gets a shiny plastic thong?

It does look good, but I’ll echo what others have said, there’s some trade-offs. The lack of a neutral or unhelmeted head is sorely missed, the competition here is stiffer with other solid classic Magnetos out or announced, and not everyone will vibe with the added design flourishes (it’s not excessive, so I don’t mind).

I’d be lying if a magnetic hand isn’t both silly and awesome at the same time.

I do hope the line flourishes as well. I really want more classic-style comic heroes that aren’t represented so often. Nova, Star-Lord, Venom, Silver Surfer, etc.

Already concerned about the price jump though.

Gosh, after this many attempts at a comic Magneto, I'm gonna have to come to grips with the fact that some things just don't translate.

Well, that's not really true, they just needed to give him a more muscular body. You need those big, broad shoulders to make that ring around his neck look smaller ... or just make the ring smaller.

It's kind of weird that most comic characters are meant to be world class body builders. Mags doesn't use his physical abilities at all really, so why would he bother? I guess when you make the decision to wear form fitting spandex you have to go all in.

What if 11.2” IS the standard height for these figures going forward? 😳. Can you imagine the Thor being the same height as Wolverine or Magneto being as tall as your average HT Black Widow? I do wonder if HONŌ will use a variety of body types to fit each character or use two stock bodies (a la Famous Covers from back in the day).
Quoting myself from the HONŌ Wolverine thread to say that my fears can be put to rest; Magneto looks like he’ll tower over Wolverine!

As someone who has the Sideshow version, what I see as better here are the body (except the noodle arms), effect pieces and most likely the production paint. Price is still cheaper than what Sideshow’s retailed for, so there’s that.

I’ll probably buy one, keep the parts I want and sell the rest just as I’m planning to do with Wolverine.

I like both options so far. Wasn’t a big fan of the SS version but I do see the appeal some have for it. I think Premier Toys has the advantage on esthetics. The collar isn’t huge like the HT and I might like the helmeted head better as well. Not sure how tall it will be but at least the HT has the height going for it.

I guess I understand why ppl don't to much care for lines on the suits, but they've never really bothered me on any interpretation so far. I prefer it over the plain PJs looks

With that comparison that @jedijim3002 has shared, I'm thinking I like the PT gritted teeth headsculpt more than the Hono one though as well as the bulkier arms. I'm getting really tired of having to frankenstein bodies.

Wish there was a neutral sculpt or maybe a sculpt without the helmet. I under the price point is lower though.

The body and outfit looks great, but Sideshow trounced them on the portraits. The unmasked Sideshow sculpt is fantastic. Present Toys in last place by a wide, wide margin, in my opinion.

I decided that mutants are all super ripped because they’re the next stage in human evolution and therefore would tend to have a genetic predisposition towards developing to the upper limit of natural potential.
