I hope this whole diecast thing gets done with HT. I agree level of detail will SUFFER because diecast CAN NOT outdo plastic as far as fine detailing and delicacy.
I'm not saying this figure will be bad, I'm saying I prefer regular PLASTIC MMS releases. Proof in the pudding- when you can, in hand, compare BD detailing on Mk VI to 42 when it comes out.
While I hope it's not the case, for all we know the battle-damaged parts of the Mark XLII are plastic. The detailing in the prototype photos doesn't look any worse than past releases to my eye, anyway. In fact I'd say its their best since the Mark V.

On another note, DARTHY!!! Have you been well?:)

Hi Femtech!

He'll no! Just recovering from a Hernia operation and my dad died last month. Pretty ****ty time all round :(

However, I am a positive person and take all the crap life throws at me with a shrug and a smile.

Now, do I need to per-order this mark as well as IP? Didn't like the design much at first but it's growing on me...... will I regret it if I pass?

Hot Toys is pleased to announce a new Iron Man 3 line! Our collectibles looked real, now, they will feel real! Iron Man 3 Mark XLII Version 2 will feature metal parts and real lab grown human skin! Preorder yours now for $1399.99!

Sideshow Exlucsive: The broken phone that Stark throws at the wall in one of the trailers!

Pricing people out of the hobby, still, getting the Workshop Tony and this guy would possibly put my IM3 itch at ease, at least til I see what all is in the film and then announced.

Mark VII (regular version) headsculpt is good, but reminds me too much of Jeff Goldblum.

can anyone tell me why the arc reactor on the mark 42 is a triangle one and not circular? does it have to do with the extremis plot and thus tony reverts back to the triangular reactor? thanks in advance!

Yeah, the XLII's likeness is amazing. The VII looks nothing like RDJ... The nose is wrong, and the eyes.

I noticed this, too. I'm confused.

The triangle is inside the circle, and in Avengers he went back to the circle because Joss Whedon prefers the circle (like me). Its just an artistic design, since IM2 the core inside the reactor is a tiny triangle as far as I know that never changed but its just the shape maybe Tony changed that.
(In Avengers when he doesn't have the armor on you can see the triangle inside the circle)

All the new armors have diferent variants of the reactor but its just on the exterior, I think... :dunno
