1/6 Hot Toys - Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - Venom Collectible Figure

I’m looking forward to this, I just hope the spider image doesn’t peel off. I had the carnage figure and the black parts could peel off after being handled. Wasn’t a fan of that in a otherwise fantastic figure

comic venom at half the size is coming out and looks ten times better and also this was a terrible rendition of venom

Actually, according to the specs comic Venom is like an inch taller than the movie Venom.

So still too tall for my taste. I think they all stink. None of them are the Venom I would want. I want the original Venom, who wasn't much taller than Peter. Like only 6'2".

Yeah I pre-ordered this pretty soon after it was announced. I was happy to see the spider symbol on his chest and I thought the headsculpts were really cool. But ultimately after a few months I cancelled the order bk the figure is just too large to fit what I think of when I think of Venom

Thankfully that comic version was announced recently and I ordered that.

I still have the movie version that I like quite a lot after adding the decal to his chest and all, but I like the new comic version a little more.

Not sure I will be able to get much for my movie version (Let There be Carnage) no that there are two newer versions.

Also I wonder why they apparently chose to change the skin texture on this video game version? Do you think they were worried about it rubbing off or something?

I see they used art on the box for when he interacts with the symbiote seed which is not the version of Venom that's coming out lol. Interesting.

My analysis on it all they bascially, once again I might add cause Carnage suffers from this as well, they used the base body of the Venom figure as a template skin, body, and all, and worked off of that. End of the day, it's an upscaled movie Venom figure that reaches 1/4 scale size. I'll still take it since it fixes height difference b/w our only modern day 1/6 Carnage figure and Venom, but can't say I'm entirely pleased since actually new changes would've need to be done to make it accurate to game. I'm finding some solace that it gives off Mac Gargan vibes with the symbol, size and whatnot.

To me, this sucks big time.

I hate Hot Toys with reused or scaled up/down body parts, lazy and cheap.

If it’s not done like 2.0 Batfleck or the Scorched Alien, then I am not buying it.
