I was strong enough to let this figure go in favor of more money for my SW collection, but i perfectly understand everyone who felt into the pit with this figure. He is amazing. It must be hands down one of the best figures in anyone's collection. Sculpt is amazing, tailoring is perfect, accessories, posing. Top tier figure.

Respect the discipline tho and IMO Wanda is also one of HT's better offerings. She is on my IW list but this DS may be the definitive one for me. Also the rising prices are gonna make me cautious.

Cross-post from Spidey thread. I was unsure about the Strange figure until I got Spidey, then finally decided he was a must-have. Snagged one with the 20% off eBay coupon at a decent price.

It rocks. Haven’t had time to futz it properly yet — not even sure where the sling rings go.

One of the few figures I regret not getting. I had him ordered but was tight on money and ended up cancelling. Now that i'm slightly freed up and can fit in one figure, I want him but sideshow seems to no longer have him.

Now he's going for 400-600!:gah: And the only way I have a shot at another is when the Strange sequel comes. I hope they don't alter his outfit too much. Sigh. My hope is he'll have his yellow gloves on the next release too. No way they'll do "infinity war strange" since he has nothing new on him whatsoever and they have tons of other characters they can do.

:lol That is EXACTLY why Hot Toys will do an infinity war version!

HT loves to find reasons to re-release something.

Not so sure about that. Out of a couple figures like iron man and a few Batman’s very few figures get re-released. They could have done AoU Hawkeye with the A1 costume he wore. Or vision for CW. Many others. It may get an update but it’s pretty rare to get a re-release.

I wouldn’t expect an IW version but certainly a new figure for the Doctor Strange sequel, that should pretty much go without saying. I mean, Hot Toys has made at least ONE figure from every MCU movie, correct?

I thought IW suit was the same as this, hence my thoughts on a re-release branded as IW with a couple different accessories.

I agree with the thought that there are already so many new IW figures, if HT has to choose how much to release a character in a repeating costume will the first they skip.

Yeah from what we see it looks pretty similar if not identical but it’s hard to tell at this point. The strange figure came out pretty recently and if it’s identical there’s a large portion of the potential customer base that wouldn’t buy it for a new base or box. If they added a new sculpt or something then maybe. But a straight re issue is pretty unlikely. Outside of like the mk4/6 that doesn’t really happen and even those had minor updates. The bvs armored Batman got a new head and armor pieces and spear so it wasn’t a reissue. Those are really it for recent dual release of an existing figure. Before that it was mk7 and mk3 but those each had some unique pack in items or updates as well. Actually can’t think of any straight re-release figures.

Chewy, Han from TFA and Ben from New Hope comes to mind. It was on waitlist, sold out, then went on pre-order status again. And that didn't need a new movie for the 2nd batch.

HT is going to collect so much $$$ from IW. This is their moment and they will not hold back. Look at Rocket..barely changed and we already have a IW release. Dr. Strange IW version is almost 100%....especially due to how well it sold.

That’s not a re-release. It’s the same figure, same box, same stand. They just had more to sell. Not really the same thing. Releases go from waitlist to open occasionally. This wouldn’t be the same thing as that.

As for Rocket...well it’s got a new Groot figure so that’s a decent change. And a new weapon. So, fairly unique release.

And we'll see a new something for Dr. Strange. Can't really just write off the character as completely unchanged just from a short trailer.

As for straight up reissues, the Tumbler and Bat Pod were definitely reissues. 2.0s come in the form of many Ironmans, Alien series like Ripley, Bank Joker 2.0/Regular Joker DX 2.0 and the Terminators.

As for going from one movie to another kid of reissue with very minor changes, that depends on how well the figure sold. Usually like you said, another version will just come with a small difference like a different gun or something. What's the big difference between Wonder Man vs BVS version when it comes to costume?

The only way they'll do Infinity War Strange is if they put him in a 2pack. I'm really hoping they announce more 2packs than just Rocket and Groot.
