It's not the exact same. That cape is new. The drape over the left arm was not in the original

Probably because they’re showing the pre-production prototype figure from a few years ago. Likely the same figure or batch that they used to take the promotional pictures, which draped over the arms.

This:lecture
The cape is now movie accurate.

As noted several posts back, both styles are accurate to the movie.

I did not see...
Although both cloak poses are correct, I had read an interview of the costume designer who had explained that when the cloak covered the arm made the movements difficult, then in the action scenes they chose to sew the fabric to facilitate the movements. Furthermore, it gives the impression that the levitation cape is actually "alive".

I think it makes sense that the cape changes position from an in universe perspective as well.

It’s “alive” so it can more around fluidly, shifting positions on Strange for optimal placement.

Sometimes fluttering for dramatic effect, even with no wind. :lol

All I know is that I'm kicking myself for missing Doctor Strange the first time around and if Hot Toys re-releases him it's an immediate pre-order for me.

One of my favorite sculpts to date.

You'll be waiting at least 2-3 years. They won't re-release for IW...so your best bet is for DS 2.

Still uphold that this is probably one of Hot Toys best. At least in my collection. Doctor Strange isn't really a character I grew up reading so I'm not as attached to the character as say Spidey or Cap, but damn he's just so well made. His costume is so detailed and it comes across as nicely done as an iron man is engineered.

Yeah, I agree. It’s a figure built to last. Top 5 HS, almost all soft goods for the outfit, great accessories, and the cape is really well done.

It’s an instant classic.

I just got this guy in. He is amazing!! Maybe my favorite Hot Toy. Much much better than what my camera shows. Love how the elbows are double jointed. Allows for great articulation.

Someone said it earlier. He is as well made as Iron Man figures are engineered.

One concern. HT wrapped the neck with white plastic to prevent staining I’m guessing during transit.

Have any of you had a problem with that from either the cape or wardrobe?

Thanks

Haven't had any issues with staining on this guy. Was initially worried the cape would stain his neck, but all seems ok.

I don't think I've heard anyone complain about this figure in any way at all.
Solid sculpt
Lots of great accessories
Impeccable detail and tailoring on the costume...
Easily only if the best well rounded Hot Toys releases. My only gripe is, I would have liked a dynamic flight stand... Lucky for me I already had an extra.
