Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

Listen I respect your opinion. And I write (and draw) myself and that's the beauty of creativity is that it is individual. We all have our ideas about our work and other peoples work.... I just don't agree with constantly tinkering with an idea. I try to steer away from that because I think a lot of great things happen "in the moment" and going back and tinkering here and there can potentially ruin something that was fine the way it is. I've had those times where I'm constantly wanting to change things up...!bjt there is something to be said for seeing a good thing and letting it stand pat as it is.

But let me finish by saying that of course what Lucas did and what you may have done...it has merit and I shouldn't have knocked on him because it is his work and vision and he is allowed to do with it as he wishes (tho not now...#Disney).

Well, to be fair to your perspective, even I, (the biggest Lucas apologist) thinks that Han shot first. :) I think as an artist we CAN over think things, and I will never deny that Lucas didn't do that too on occasion. That said, for me, this one instance of putting prequel Anakin into the end of RotJ made sense.

Lucas should be in prison for that move alone

Well that's a little harsh. He did gave us three of the greatest films of ALL TIME. SW, EMPIRE & RAIDERS.

Jc uses production pieces for master paint.

Not always. The Keaton Bruce Wayne was a completely different sculpt from the final production piece.

Force Awakens Finn appears to be downgraded and different as well.

Yes, I too will defend everything Lucas has done... except that!

And I'm glad he decided to remove the scream he inserted when Luke jumped down the Cloud City shaft.

Tongue in cheek on the jail thing but actually I'm not sure that's true. As far as I'm concerned he took back empire and sw with those ridiculous edits and changed the films forever.

He probably wanted to do that crap to raiders too and Spielberg told him to F off

Lucas doesn't seem to respect the art the way others do.

What If Spielberg went back and cgi'd ET ? What if Coppola went back changed the godfather?

If Picasso experimented with acrylics would it be reasonable for him to call in all his previous paintings to "make them better" because he felt like it?

Why do we give George a pass ? Didn't we have to look past enough with the plot holes, inconsistencies and Jar Jar scenes?

The man literally twisted a piece of film to make it look like a someone was moving out of the way of a laser blast.

Yeah he should go to jail.

If they created it they can do whatever they want to with it IMO. We might not like it or hate but it is not our film, painting, etc.

This. :lecture Besides the fact that without the efforts of George Lucas there wouldn't even be a Star Wars franchise that people can bestow misplaced importance on. Even though I don't like the changes he's made to his own property I can still appreciate the originals.

I've noticed that their early prototypes of western people tend to have very ROUND lower eyelids, luke Skywalker, was beady eyed too....

Spielberg may not have cg'd ET, but he destroyed the danger by replacing armed soldiers guns with radios and other items the can throw at ET and Elliot.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

From a story telling perspective, Hayden Christensen's presence made A LOT more sense than Shaw's.

That's your opinion. I think Shaw's work and portrayal should have remained intact. Lucas should have made them all young then. Hayden made Vader nothing more than a whiny spoiled Jedi kid.

And here we go with the "Secret Base pics look perfect". All's well in the world.

Chewie looks much better. Eyes are still a bit close. But better looking.
