Back to the toys. Han's prototype looks really great. Chewbacca is probably a reluctant, try to justify the face, purchase for most. I just don't get what Hot toys is seeing. It's clearly (including the ANH version) not Chewbacca's likeness or even facial personality or character essence. For me anyway, a disappointing figure. Not the end of the world but kinda sucks. I had high hopes for this one, Getting Solo though. Loving it. Even that secret base image is wrong. He looks wrong. Not just a slightly off wrong I can live with, but a so way off I'm never feeling what/who I'm seeing. Am I nuts? It's that last Chewie in the Falcon looking a Rey face I wanted to see. Gentle, full of experience and a little world weary. Hot toys has it in them but, yeah, probably too much to ask for in a toy...

I see Ford. It's just matter of getting used to his current (old) look. We all remember young Solo from OT or Indiana Jones. Well, those guys aren't around anymore.

Very well said. That's the Chewie I want to see as well. I cite that scene in particular as a source for an "ideal" portrait all the same.

I always found it ironic that Hot Toys managed to mass produce a haired Chewbacca without any mass quality control issues while ****ing up the underlying sculpt.

Man the Prequel Chewies is awful. Sheesh.

Obviously the original is the gold standard for Chewie...but I really like the new look. Fur looks a bit more refined...although at times less natural. And in terms of the figure...I think they did a great job. And upon examining some pics I don't think the eyes are too close. But this is me and I think we've already had a lot of talk on here about preferences. This is def a figure I like.

But my god that prequel Chewie. Haha just awful.

At least Spielberg has kept the original version of E.T. in the market and released both versions on Blu-Ray. Unlike what someone else did...

Han looks like he lifting up to loose another surreptitious fart.

Rey and Finn are concerned that Han isn't paying due attention to his flying.

Chewie's just seen it all before.

Han looks amazing but I still think Chewbacca looks goofy. I wish they did PERS on every figure, the thousand yard stares take all the life out of them.

I agree with the PERS eyes...opens up a wealth more poses from the simple fact that you can change up the figures point of focus. Chewie would be the least to benefit from Pers tho...he has pretty small, hidden eyes and it would be a nightmare to put the PERS in with all the fur on the figure (I would assume). But nice figure...gonna buy when it comes out.

But my the Rey figure looks amazing. Looks right out of the movie.
