If push came to shove and I were to only keep one iteration, it’d probably be TFA for the outfit being that it’s essentially Jedi Master Luke as we all envisioned him as being. Slightly inferior sculpt could be concealed a bit with the hood of the cloak, but as you said, the cloak is a bit difficult to work with. TLJ has the slightly better likeness and more detail in the outfit, which gives it more shelf presence imo; especially if you pose it on the Ahch-To dio base that comes with TFA Luke.
Like I said, if I had to choose one I’d keep TFA, but I know I’d regret selling TLJ if I were to ever part with it. So I won’t and don’t have to worry about making the decision on which to keep.
