I think Hot Toys' Fett looks great, but in your picture I think I can see the problems people have with the T-visor. On screen helmet top looks curved and bottom straight. On Hot Toys it looks opposite. Top straight and bottom curved. I used my Galaxy Note to demonstrate.

Thanks for this, Loki and Hippie. I can see now what people are talking about.

^close. It's actually the bottom part of the visor. The mandibles are supposed to "flare" out more. Check any Boba Fett thread on site, it's always the same mistake. I'll agree with those that say I'm surprised not one company's ever fixed that oversight. Fett collectors are pretty vocal about that.

People have been trying to fix this since Medicom's first came out:lol I wasn't around for any Marmit discussions.

I see, but as the helmet is round the angle of the photo is important. The movie still is taken from below making curves turn upwards. Figure photo is opposite, taken from above and makes curves go down.
I do see the flare at the bottom could be considered a problem.

Like many of the SW helmets, Fett's is very susceptible to lens distortion so I'm going to reserve judgement until I have it in-hand.

The least distorted way to show a figure is to use a slightly longer zoomed-in optical lens, but most people take pics with their phone (wider angle, digital zoom only) so it can make things look a bit wonky, especially on these finer "does it curve or not?" type questions.

Someone asked for a comparison with the sideshow version.

Sideshow's helmet shape looks better. And again, HT makes the range finder stalk too long, just like the 1/4 scale.

But I'd rather have the HT.

Yeah, Kylo - thanks for taking all those pics. :clap

Sideshow's helmet shape looks better. And again, HT makes the range finder stalk too long, just like the 1/4 scale.

But I'd rather have the HT.

The pics show up the flaws in the SSC sculpt - everything below the brow line is too tall relative to the crown of the helmet, the horizontal part of the T visor is curved instead of straight and too wide, and the cheeks are too tall and not angled inward enough - but it also shows that the HT is no bullseye either.

The HT 1/6 visor's not as off as the 1/4, but it's still too wide at the top of the "T." Overall, I think the HT has a better look, but it's not as far ahead of the SSC (which is decent, the look mostly undone by the Kermit green) as you would have hoped.:(

I still can't wait to see this in-hand though as all pics have a bit of distortion and it's enough to alter subtle things like the curved vs straight line of the upper T.

Thanks for the side by sides, Ren! Profile of HT Fett looks a bit odd in that one shot but maybe there's some distortion there.

Still not totally convinced by the body on the HT, but I'll see in hand what it's like and what can be futzed and what can't.

I'm curious to see the SS hands and feet on the Hot Toys figure. I thought the action feet might look cool for some poses. Are they compatible?

Paint job is way better on the HT. But someone tell me how sideshows hands look better then HT lol

Though I like the Hot Toys Fett, not much improvement to the SS Fett to make me fork out another $230. Will use that cash for something else. Still satisfied with my ESB Fett from SideShow.

Thanks for the comparisons Ren! Based on those pics alone I have to say that the SS compared came across much better than I thought! Yes HT looks better but it is not "night and day" as I originally thought. Ren can the HT jet pack be put on the SS?

Great comparison shots! I'll agree that I think the HT looks a bit better, but it's a lot closer that I would have guessed.
