To me it's not really about opinions. I just think this idea that someone at a toy company gets to make a decision to actually redesign characters from one of the most loved (and obsessively known) film trilogies in movie history because they "don't look good enough" is pretty arrogant.

I mean the cowardly lion from Wizard of Oz does look a little cheesy (hey, limitations of makeup at the time) and in need of a facesculpt tweak, right?:lol

And in ROTJ Bossk was an incomplete costume relegated to a background character (like Dengar in ESB, he's barely visible in the actual movie and isn't in the scene pictured) - ESB is where he's featured and looks cool.

SSC Bossk has issues beyond the likeness - to me he just has a bit of a wonky look overall with the sausage arms due to the odd decision to add (obviously visible) wrist and ankle articulation and his legs looking like a skinny boy with his pants rolled up too far. To me the figure captures the shrieking bird Bossk in Dark Forces though.
^ This is along the lines of what I was getting at.

Thanks for the comparisons Ren! Based on those pics alone I have to say that the SS compared came across much better than I thought! Yes HT looks better but it is not "night and day" as I originally thought. Ren can the HT jet pack be put on the SS?
I think it probably could, i don't want to try though one strap on my hot toys one came off instantly due crap glue & it was a pain regluing under the armour. Hot toys is slightly smaller & magnetized though.

Thanks! I'm still on the fence with HT version as I currently own SS and weighing the need to spend the extra $360 Can. I do like HT back pack and maybe make a eBay purchase.

SS helmet shape, size, the way it sits on the neck and proportions to body look better but overall HT wins.

Thanks for the comparisons.

Mine arrived today, great looking figure.

Have to decide which 1/6 version I'm keeping, but needed to see the HT Fett in hand rather than making the decision based on pics

Nice comparison pics...despite it's inaccuracies for me the HT helmet looks a better and more accurate sculpt than SS. And that 1/4 scale just blows them all away..beautiful looking piece..

The negativity and concern about such small trival issues raised by some users really sucks the fun and excitment out of this hobby :(

I know there's been some discussion about the gloves on the HT release, and their toy-like appearance; do you think shooting them with some dull-coat would improve them? I don't think it'd hurt.

The hero ROTJ helmet is not distorted/flared out the way the ESB helmet was (the ROTJ helmet is more straight up and down,) so it's not quite an apples-to-apples comparison in terms of SSC Vs. HT.

Also, it's amazing how different the chest armor sculpts are - the upper plates and lower plate are very different shapes HT vs SSC (lower plate way narrower on the SSC) and the overall three plates together are so differently proportioned HT vs SSC.

nice shots, Kylo. Here's one I took too, but with SS v2 Fett.

They are too clean. I will weathered mine for sure.

Someone asked for a comparison with the sideshow version.

For all the hate Sideshow gets, I think that looks damn good next to the new Hot Toys figure. The only thing that's ever been an issue for me is the boxy chest armor. Never have the balls to attempt the mods I see on here. I was gonna buy extra chest armor to try, but never found it for a price I was willing to pay. In the right pose it can be hidden well enough. I prefer ESB Fett over RotJ Fett so unless I decide I want/need to have both I'm now quite satisfied with seeing how Sideshow's looks. Plus, Sideshows was $180 (I only paid $120 with using some rewards) and Hot Toys is $235 - $260. Not worth the $50 - $80 premium for me. Also I'll take the awesome light up Sideshow base to the deluxe Hot Toys Sarlaac base any day!! Thanks for the pics!!! :clap

Thanks for this also. Been waiting to see how the Sideshow v2 looks next to v1, but with both these pics I can see some differences. I like my v1 better.. :yess:

Also noticed it looks like the new Sideshow v2 is much shorter than original v1? In the comparison pics with Hot Toys, v1 looks slightly taller than HT while in the pics with v2 is shorter !!
