I hope SSC re releases Bossk. He was a pretty great figure.
Try telling that to all the people over in the HT ANH Vader thread. It just always sounds funny when people say that because the minute ANY figure ships, threads start as people mod it to make it.... more screen accurate.
And if I had that SSC Bossk, THIS is how I'd pose him, three fingers and all...
Of course wanting that is unrealistic. I (& others I'm betting) have never implied that.As far as the detail scratches go, you're definitely in the wrong hobby if you want 1/6th figures 100% screen accurate.

Btw, I personally don't like that SSC Bossk figure; looks like a stylized Clone Wars version or something, & not the dude in the movie.
Yeah, it's amazing how EVERY thread has the same progression. Initial excitement when a figure is first announced. Then comes impatience during the wait. Once something is finally released, every detail get broken down and problems are magnified.
SSC Boosk is awesome. I can't see any relations to CW Trandoshans design. He is so much better than movie model.
Winner.
It's terrible. Different than the 1/4 (which is really bad, also), it almost looks like they used the Sideshow helmet as the base.
Yes, I have two on preorder. But it's really, really bad.
Please inform how this is 'really, really bad' and 'terrible'. ...I don't see it?
it's all good, I respect people's opinions. At the end of the day, I'm personally glad we got what he got and would prefer the figures from my photo rather than this.
If you're really gonna call toy makers arrogant because the figures aren't 100% accurate, that's a discussion I don't have the passion for.
So you're gonna tell guys in the 501st who don't have screen accurate height/weight of their characters that they're not Vader, Stormtroopers, etc and are just arrogant too?
Here's a rough comparison shot with a movie still and the helmet of my figure.
Weathering/scratches are obviously different between the two, with more scratching on the dome of the prop.
T-Visor looks really good to me. I don't see the inaccuracies that the Fett-perts see but I'm ok with that. The Hot Toys helmet may not flare out enough but keep in mind the shot of my figure was taken with a cell phone. There's definitely some lens distortion going on.
IMO, this is the definitive 1/6 scale Boba Fett and aside from the wonky gloves, he's perfect.
I tried to clean up my reply because I knew you'd get defensive but sure, do you get offended that people at toy companies make plush toys that aren't screen accurate as well?
And just to be clear, you're not buying this figure because you don't support arrogant toy makers, right?
If you are, why would you if it upsets you so much?
I just needed to know if I was replying to someone who's just complaining about a figure they're not buying or if I'm really talking to someone who considers non-screen accurate scratches on the helmet as a "redesign".
But it is what it is. I'm sure photos with the Marmit will be appreciated by people in this thread. Looking forward to seeing it.
All I did at the start of this was say it was odd HT would be so obsessive about screen accuracy on EVERYTHING ELSE on the figure (which is what HT is) but not match the scratches. It's that logic disconnect I was questioning, not the overall fig's quality.
