It looks a little soft, but he was younger back them and maybe the lighting doesn't help the sculpt?

I've been looking at the proto pics and the sculpt is definitely the same one, just softer. That's just the way it has been going. We get used to seeing all the detail in the proto and then get disappointed when it disappears in the production piece. I'm guilty of that, but honestly we shouldn't be able to see skin pores at 1/6 scale. Maybe they are purposely exaggerating certain details in order for it to look right in production.

I dont get it the proto was so spot on and yet this looks so off! I guess it wont hurt me then that i dont have the money and i can cancel this without worry. I see now why this came out so early cuz they clearly rushed it!

I agree that Arnie should be pretty buff. This was him at pure movie bulk, post body building... but I think with the full gear kit up, it isn't so noticeable..

Anyway, I'm liking this sort of look. I was going to go with a pure movie accurate pose after he kits up and slings the rifle over his shoulder, but I don't want to force his arm pose too much (haven't done a good job of it so far with my Iron Man..)

Having pre-ordered this on day one and opting for flex pay. I just don't know if I like this figure or not now, the proto was bang on. But this looks slightly off. I don't know why. Saying that, it might be a figure that is better in hand. The trouble with pictures uploaded to Facebook is they are compressed to hell and can make the most stunning and sharpest images look like washed out vaseline garbage.

I dunno, I see that sculpt. It looks a little softer and paint apps appear different....still early in pic cycle so holding off on judging to critically yet.

Yeaaah, this looked fantastic in the prototype. Not so great now.

Not just slightly off, but entirely off. Will wait for more photos on half decent cameras but right now, this doesn't make me interested like that prototype did.

Agreed that I need to see more pics before judgment is made. This was a figure that I held off on PO'ing until release for just this reason. I would love to add it to my collection, but won't be crushed if I don't.

the pics on fb show the figure off pretty well i think, it looks close to the proto from the front view, but from the side it looks terrible. Like the face seems too small or something i dont know.

These are from the front:

My only gripe is the thousand yard stare , every new photo hot toys has posted it appears matrix is looking down or appears hypnotized lol

Im still adding this to my arnold collection regardless

The more I look at the proto, and then the final release, the more p***** off I'm getting! I cant even cancel it. If I do I get hit with an 80 dollar charge (flex pay). I just pray It looks better in hand, other wise its going straight on eBay. Lets hope its a skywalker situation

I like this shot, it does show off more detail than those other plastic enemies shots:

I just can't swing it next month though as i plan on getting my mk43 iron man and i got other things to pay for.

Ok having seen some high res shots i think this figure will be fine in hand, though i wish it were going to look as good as that proto. That proto was amazing.

What year did HT release Dutch? I think I see more Arnold in that portrait. Ouch.

Not sure if I'm turned off enough to not buy it though. I mean it's John Matrix .....
