Damn this guy is getting 'spensive fast. Just checked eBay and all listings are in the mid to high 300's.

Never thought that could happen to a Cap figure; seems that there's huge demand for Avengers-related figures, just like what happened for figures for the first film.

Might have something to do with collectors' completionist tendencies maybe? Haha..

If it is fully Waitlisted and that's it, I'm really, really surprised HT didn't make a lot more of these. Have to think they would have sold a lot more of them, considering this is one of the first AoU figures released.

If I remember & heard correctly, JC Hong mentioned in one of his interviews that each HT figure's production/edition size is about 20,000-30,000...and if that indeed is true, maybe they never thought Cap would sell out considering many of HT's recent releases are still sitting in retailers' inventories.

Really? :thud:

That's very interesting. I used to think maybe 10k-15k tops.

If you ever find that article, please post it.

Yep, here's the link to the YouTube video (courtesy of fellow SS board member Johnny Utah):

Here're a few screenshots I took:

Hopefully YouTube translated everything right, and I interpreted them correctly :lol

But what I found most amazing of all, is that all these great headsculpts that Hot Toys produce, started from this:

I thought he was talking about each factory capacity. 20-30k at a time but they make multiple figures at a time.

My AOU Cap is being delivered next week, really excited as this is only my 2ND HT (I have more on order).

Unfortunately I'm in the middle of moving house so this will be being opened for a quick check and then put back away and stored for a few months. Is there anything in particular I should check with this one? Any common defects?

Thanks

Hmm something doesn't make sense. If a couple thousand sets are sold why would they produce 10 times that number??

I'm still wait listed with sideshow on this guy. Can't believe how expensive he's gotten at bbts.

No kidding! I just actually posted this question in a couple of FB groups and it seems the prices are going up everywhere.

I bought 4 because I actually thought this would happen (but only intend to keep 2 or 3) and am wondering if I should sell now or see if prices go up.
