Looking at Avengers 2, it doesn't seems as popular as the first one. This could potentially affect its resale value too..

I don't think the box office will have any effect on it. It still did better then almost every other movie ever made(only like 3 or 4 ahead of it), and that kind of stuff usually has limited effect anyway.

Can you imagine taking a hammer to HB? :joy

I would buy a red boxing glove and hit HB style while saying "go to sleep"

I'd love to know how many of these HT eventually makes. :lol

Based on the cost I would say they are making just as many of these as they are of any other IM figure.

Manufacturing companies have to make enough to stay within the same profit window as the other products in the line. If they make a ton more and the price seems to low for the size of the figure then customers will expect cheaper prices on future release of smaller figures. If they don't make enough they will price it out of their customer base.

I have found that the most important factor that affects resale value is customer base. Large pieces that initially cost a lot more then the other products in the same line do not fair as well because the customer base is smaller.

In other words, there are probably 10 x more people that can easily pay $300 for a figure then there are that can easily pay $900 for a figure. That doesn't mean collectors won't sacrifice to buy this initially, but it does mean that there will not be a ton of collectors available to support the secondary market for something this expensive so it will probably decrease in value after the initial "sold out" shock wears off

Or do anyone think that HOT TOYS is only looking at breaking even with this piece. Cause not many will spend on this piece and production will be low. They simply produce this cause they want to show people they are capable of doing it and being a market leader.

in business, no one can win all the time. Not all the figures will be selling like hot cakes. As long as the rest of the figures can make up the numbers and profit? Wondering if it's possible.

I finally preordered this beast as well. Just got a great new display cabinet, and this guy is perfect for it. I'm going to sell a bunch of my older toys to pay for this over 8 payments. First time I have done that, but it makes sense in this case.

I think this piece, along with the Millennium Falcon cockpit, are the next level of detail and luxury that Hot Toys is looking to deliver now. The problem is, I only have space for a few of these; I already have the 1/4 Scale Endoskeleton and will be getting the 66 Batmobile when it comes out. That maxes out a big chunk of my display space right there.

Congrats!! It's very possible moving from 1/6 figurine to 1/6 vehicle and now 1/6 movies sets. Will be exciting to see what's next.

That is a basic retail display case

I use to build display cases and I could build a case similar to that from wood and glass for half the price, before you added in shipping,

Here is a picture of a comic book shop I built the cabinet for in the 90's. This is a scanned image but you can see the cabinet style it similar.

2 wood sides, a wood floor and a 2 aluminum tracks in the back for the sliding doors. Add the glass and you're done :) I used trim wood to connect the cabinets cabinets
