I am having hard time to decide whether I should go for it. I could preorder it from sideshow but release is still unclear. Also when I order from sideshow, they charge %20 for tax which is around 165$ but when and if I order from a seller on Hong Kong via PayPal, then I can ask him to write a lower value for customs and I may buy it cheaper compare to Sideshow's retail price, since they usually sell it for cheaper price. On the other hand when it releases Hong Kong sellers can sell it for high price since it is a unique one and Sideshow may get out of stock. Also I could wait because my friend is gonna visit Hong Kong on January but we are not sure whether there may be any stock left for decent price.

All and all what are the suggestions?

wow.... based on your run-on sentences you might have a different problem altogether.

Basically 3 options.

1. Order via Sideshow and pay around 1100 USD in total cost ( But when review videos release, it may get out of stock)
2. Order via Hong Kong sellers (It may be cheaper depending on their sell price)
3. Wait to get it in Hong Kong on January (If it still is in stock for decent price)

Definitely an intelligent conundrum!

In consideration of your dilemma, I have placed myself in your "shoes." First and foremost, I would ask myself "how urgently do I want this figure?" Next up, is availability. Would I be available to pickup/receive this figure upon its release date? Perhaps I may have errands to do or a vacation scheduled that month? How much have I saved up, so far, for this figure—after living expenses? And lastly, how much do I value personal convenience over cost-savings?

Personally, this figure is the most ambitious "toy/collectible" I've encountered to date, so this is a must-have. In terms of availability, I always make time for things I love, like my family, and more importantly my figurines. I have saved up enough for this substantially, yet understandably expensive figure—which goes without saying that everything is relative to individual abstracts.

I do not care when it arrives, if needed it can arrive next year, as long as I receive it safely and for cheaper price. Hong Kong sellers may offer cheaper price but this figure will not be same with the rest, prices will go crazy fast, stock will be limited etc. At least that is what I think.

If you want it no doubt, option #1.
If you feel lucky about saving some money, option #2 (knowing it could be gone from SS AND potentially more expensive through HK sellers).
If you're waiting for option #3, you probably don't really want this figure.

As SoGS said, #1 if you really want it and #2 if you want to chance it.

Wait for the release pictures before doing #2. You have to be very quick in ordering it though.

Mind you, many people here, like businessmen, consider the opportunity costs to such inordinately priced items. By pre-ordering HB, they believe they lose out on bank interests and the option to purchase other existing or upcoming figures. It definitely is a conundrum for some.

Being the savvy businessman I am, I used all reward points on this and will only have to pay shipping. :lol

If you even remotely would like to get the figure, enter the speculator market and secure the product now and put it on a payment plan. Given the number of HT Iron Man collectors out there (and there are plenty), the worst case you would be able to let HB go for what you paid or make a little profit if you don't like it. Now is not the time to be pennywise on a piece this expensive. If you want it, secure the item now.

They are not going to overproduce this and there may be a couple available at launch. The only way it stays available is if scalpers or shops jack the price up to the point no one will bite.

HB needs to be a sellout and a homerun given the delays and the redesigns. If this is a bust, HT will have some collateral damage to make up for with a poor execution on a number of fronts for what should be their most impressive release ever.

Thanks for all answers. It seems like going through Sideshow is the best option for now since this figure will really be an 'exclusive' one. I wish I had received 50$ off promo code :(

Ali, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Do no fret, for we all have the power of negotiation within us. Businesses, large or small, partake in it routinely—what makes an attractive bargain depends on your tongue ensued by its indelible promises. It's seminal to all relationships, for that matter. There's nothing wrong with wishing, in fact, members are also wishing for things, though many would agree to disagree.

This is my feeling as well. I could get this, or nearly 4 infinity war figures. Its not a difficult decision for me. But I'm definitely watching this. It doesn't help we saw this armor maybe 3 or 4 minutes and that AOU was only mediocre for me.

Quite frankly, I'm also guilty of this sentiment as well. Ironically, I had considered purchasing from other third-parties ( KA or Medicom and S.H.Figuarts), one for display, the other for posing, due to HT's delays. It's rather off-putting, to say the least, but I'd rather focus on the positives by playing the hand I'm dealt than to allow it to ruin my enjoyment. And yes, I agree the HB's brief screen-time fell behind on the hype train, but needless to say, those few minutes of action grew on people like me—its design and suit concept, like Igor, is phenomenal. Perhaps this is an impulse buy to satisfy my nostalgic hopes; imagine a "Juggernaut-matryoshka" mecha rampaging through obstacles or having HB sit on MK43 in an elated fashion. Now capturing this on photo or by stop-motion would add another dimension of simple joy for me. And yes, HB will act as an expensive shoebox to house my MK43. I have no problem with that since it helps save space—kinda.

:)

Time is weeding out those riding the ol' hypetrain ha

The Hulkbuster is iconic to me, no matter how long it was onscreen.

I remember how excited I was to see it show up in the first trailer for AOU. I'll feel the same way when the final product pics start coming.
