Yeah, the upper body on the regular CW Cap is a little bulky. However, some have said that it’s due to the sculpt having a bit short of a neck that gives that illusion, because the proportions of the BV are said to be a bit better due to the different sculpt.
I like the proportions on the AoU figure better than CW though.
My opinion, the body on CW and battling are the same. The difference is the helmeted head.
The helmeted head on Battling is bigger than the CW. It is in proportion with the body.
The CW has a narrow head, and slightly smaller.
So, to people who even have both figures, it can appear that the Battling has a better body, but in reality, it looks proportionate
cause the size of the head is in proportion with the body.
Same thing that happened to Golden Age Cap. In the beginning, everyone thought the body was just too bulky,
but in reality, the final production head shrunk in comparison to the proto pics.
The golden age head was actually smaller than the head on the TFA Cap, which is probably the smallest Cap figure.
Once you put a good HT Stever Rogers head, or an AOU helmeted head on the GA, the body looks more proportionate.
I do agree on you, the AOU's proportions are better than CW.
