Hot Toys......where is Catwoman from Batman Returns ?

You know I have been waiting for this and Penguin since HT announced "COMING SOON" back in Feb 18, 2012

I would be interested in a new sculpt, but I can see only a new suit with eliminated zipper as an "improvement".
The base is cool, but not a full figure buying cool.

Hmmm, seems like Bane is an inevitability now but it could just end up being a straight reissue with a new base...

The original Bane came with a decent base to begin with. The one for Selina/Catwoman was kind of a boring one. That’s the one real upgrade with this new release.

We know the actor did though and the Hot Toys sculpt looks weird, like his face is caving in in the middle.

I overlooked the omission of the zipper on the “new” Catwoman. Even if maybe the pull doesn’t scale perfectly I like the inclusion of the zipper more. I think I like the silhouette of the old figure more too. The new one has a slight “Pixar mom” body.

didn't the original come with an unmasked head sculpt/removable cat mask? looks like this one doesn't have that option.

That sculpt is pretty off.

I think I'm sort of over Hot Toys until they release something pretty special.

Yeah the mask was removable on the original and the body proportions are better. Other than the cool dio this figure seems like a downgrade. I will only get it if it ends up discounted or just look for a loose dio later on.

Man, if they would have at least made significant improvements, I might bite since my catwoman is looking dated. Specially after seeing statues by JND, Infinity Studios, Queen, etc,
It takes the wind of owning the Older Hot toys figure.
So If they would have made a new and much more improved sculpt, better body, etc. I would be happy to replace my older catwoman.
But again, just another lazy rehash by Hot Toys.
They're really shooting themselves in the foot when they continually just milk other characters, and get lazy on others.
Specially when 3rd parties are now pumping out figures that are just about as good as Hot Toys.

I sometimes wonder if eventually, in a few years, Hot Toys are gonna end up like Medicom or Enterbay, where they were great at their prime, but are now surpassed by other 1/6 scale manufacturers.

So they're re-releasing old figures under the "Dark Knight Trilogy" Banner instead of the individual movie? Thankfully the base at least says "The Dark Knight Rises."

Somehow the sculpt looks worse than I remember. I remember the original proto images of the first release and being blown away by what I saw. Not even the updated paint apps make me ooo and ahh like I did before. It's also annoying that they eyes are now looking slightly to the side instead of straight forward.

I hope the make the hinges on the goggles sturdier this go around. I remember many ppl breaking the googles last time.

Odd that she comes with the broken bat cowl seeing how not only did the Bane figure come with it before, but she has no reason as far as movie reference go to even have that included for her.

Surprised they included the gun since DC/WB have that rule about no guns now. Maybe this is grandfathered in since it's basically a reissue.

HT has just gotten so lazy with DC lately. It's exhausting to even hope for something new from them. You would think with TDK trilogy being such a big license for them, they would at least put some effort into these releases, but nope, not at all. It's like they don't put effort b/c these become shelfwarmers, but they become shelfwarmers b/c HT puts in no effort.

I wasn't collecting when the first one hit and have been building a TDK Trilogy collection. So far I've only got Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Bane, but I've got TDKR Batman on order. I've been keeping an eye on ebay for a Catwoman, so this is right up my alley.

Yeah, I remember being blown away by the original Anne Catwoman too. But that was when I first started collecting Hot Toys nearly a decade ago. There have been so many advancements in 1/6 sculpting (and all scales for that matter) since then.

Even with resin statues, I never thought they would catch up to modern Hot Toys quality but it appears some of the recent statue prototypes (like the 1:3 Queen Batpod Catwoman, and to a lesser extent the 1:6 version) rival some of the best sculpts out there. Not to mention the silicon statues/busts from JND/Infinity/Queen are outstanding and near-life like.

After Hot Toys re-released the Captain America (2012 Avengers) with some major costume/articulation/sculpt improvements, I was hoping they would retool this Catwoman figure. But like you said, seems like Hot Toys is being lazy with the DC/Dark Knight line and just cranking out the same old figures from the original molds.

To their credit, Hot Toys did finally give us Cyborg from Justice League.
