Nice pic! :clap

I'm not a professional, but I've been painting forever and have always been happy with the results using cheap craft store paint for all my repaints. Sometimes the paint might come out of the bottle a bit gloppy, but once you water it down a bit it works just as well as anything else.

I use Revell aqua color acrylic paints but any good acrylic paint will work fine, the same applies to the brushes, any good flat brush will do fine. But if you've never done this before please go and watch the many tutorials on Youtube and practice the technique before you tackle a high end expensive collectible..
Sound advice! I will have her on hand sometime this month and ponder if she needs it so badly. I sketch well, but careful brushwork has never been my thing.

I don't really see a problem with the makeup, since it did look fairly dark in many scenes. But I do think the eyes themselves need to be a lighter shade of green.
Now that's EXPERT-level. Ain't touching that!

Welp, I now own this figure, and I can safely say she really does look nothing like Felicity. There may be something of her in the nose and the mouth at certain angles, but overall just a sculpt of a pretty woman. I expect better from Hot Toys (and anybody who says it's because white girls are nearly impossible to sculpt? Please don't. These people are professional artists. I'm an artist. And I can tell you that something being "difficult" to make has never been a valid excuse for not doing it correctly. And there are plenty of distinctive features on Felicity's face - such as the laugh lines around her mouth, or her teeth & mouth shape - that would have made this sculpt look more like her. /soap box)

Costume is excellent though. This figure it worth getting just for the outfit, to be honest. I had to let out the string holding the scarf together in order to wrap it the way I wanted, but aside from that it's just so well-tailored and detailed. A+++

She looks great with Rey and Leia though.

(Rey is taller because I bought leg extenders for her)

Refreshing to not hear the old "looks so much better in hand" routine. I do still wish this had been a stronger likeness as the chances of a V2 seem really unlikely--it seems like a custom sculpt might be the only way to go for those not satisfied.

Got mine yesterday and sadly have to lean more to r3zuri's impressions than others. I've only been getting HT figs a short time, but in that time, nearly every single figure has looked better (finer likeness) than any pics I've seen. In some cases, the pics were already good (CA:CW Black Widow) and the actual figure in hand was just that much more impressive. In other cases (Both Scarlet Witches) I was never fully sold on the portraits in any of the pics I'd seen. A semblance of a likeness was there and I was prepared to accept it- but in hand I felt both were truly spot on to Olsen. Honestly startled at how good they were.

For Jyn/Jones, I felt the likeness was there in most pics I was seeing, though it definitely waxed and waned a little depending upon the lighting. In hand though, under general, omnidirectional light, it's loses a lot. Just not seeing those qualities that I see when I look at pics or film of Jones.

I'm hoping the ID version will be better, but I may just be throwing good money after...well not bad, but certainly disappointing.
The figure still has a lot to offer with all the costume display options available, so I feel like a lot of value is still there. But it does have me eyeing the PF for a a possible more satisfying representation of the character.

I agree with you 1000% and basically said the same thing back on page 242; the sculpt is a big fail and starts from something as simple as the shape of her face. Her mouth and teeth are SO distinctive and they got it totally wrong or overlooked it altogether. There are a couple review videos out there that changed my mind to purchase the figure but in-hand I'm not seeing her likeness...at all. A shame really .

I see a bit more Felicity in the sculpt than you guys seem to, but I agree it's nowhere near as close as I'd like it to be. The actress has a very unique and distinctive look to her which I would have loved to see in 1/6 form, but instead HT made her look like just your typical generic pretty actress.

The disguise scuplt looks better due to eye angle but it needs her teeth to show slightly

What’s with the plastic wrap around her neck and under her shirt? I had to take off the vest and jacket to be able to get it off easier. Even then it was hard to get off because the shirt is attached to the pants and I wasn’t wanting to rip anything. Pain in the butt.

That aside great looking figure. I love how intricate the outfit is and the sculpt looks considerably better in person. One of the best figures I’ve gotten in a while.

I'm guessing it was to prevent possible staining from the dark gray shirt. I went ahead and removed the plastic from mine though, since any staining wouldn't be visible anyway.

The higher our expectations, the higher the risk/possibility of disappointment.
