As far as sentimental value, I had a discussion the other day about how Ledger scratches all the boxes.

The Dark Knight in its own right is a classic film. Historically significant.

The material is rich, the character is great also, but Ledger's take on the role.. would I dare call it the most iconic cinematic portrayal of all time?

I think it is..

Perfect even, and absolutely timeless. A once in a lifetime performance. The stars aligned for this in a way that beats a trilllion to one odds.

Not to mention the character's appearance lends itself perfectly to this craft. It's the ultimate test of sculpture, painting, rooting, and tailoring, and that's leaving out the fun factor, and the endless slew of options from posing and accessories, non of which can fully capture or encapsulate the whole character.

And that's only on the surface. There's also added value for every individual.

Nostalgia being one.

But also speaking for myself as a collector, when my journey began, the DX11 was the best on the market and the most popular release at the time. And for obvious reasons, a Ledger Joker representation was highest on my list of grails. But the DX11 was already sold out, and too expensive at the time. I thought my best course was to wait for the next inevitable release from Hot Toys, crossing my fingers year after year at every Toy Fair event, through which a decade would pass and that would never come.

As I'm approaching my endgame now, much more invested and experienced in the hobby, I guess closing out with a Ledger figure, and what is looking like the best 1/6 figure I will ever own, is a coming full circle moment.

When I'm done I'll be able to say that's the one figure if I had to let go of all the rest. A pinnacle of 1/6 scale, and a faithful representation of one of my favorite characters.

Truly, Ledger's Joker is the exception if one was to over indulge.

I think winning the detonator in a live giveaway is the cherry on top for me.

I hate you scout trooper. 10 yrs of building the ultimate 1/6 joker and then I’ve been out of that game for 2-3 years.

You’ve now dragged me back into it and I’m reaching out to artists for parts left right and center. 😂

I'm actually debating whether I want Yuan to paint the eyes looking sideways (like the prototype)
Which actually brings up a question I wanted to ask @Aybaig.

Are you planning on matching Yuans prototype of the seeart sculpt?
Dittoooo bro. That sideway eye expression is what actually won me over and it's accurate to that specific scene/moment when Batman bangs his head on the desk. Having eyes looking sideways also give you some jaw-dropping angles for your figures in your display and as you said, some character to them as well. I'm definitely going full Yuan. Really excited to see what Heise does with it though, and Sleepy Hollow Joker.

The painting/hair looks perfect as usual with Yuan but the sculpt I don't know... It doesn't look like Heath to me. But it's probably just me, I don't want to take anyone's hype with my opinion.
Getting a Yuan's head is always an event.

To me doesn't look like Heath neither, the upper lip area is too inflated, also the chin of Heath is not like that, it is more flat, the horizontal line in that chin and the sort of valley it generates is too much, I don't know if I'm explaining myself, sorry :S . Even if hair and paint are really nice, the sculpt is a very subpar likeness.

The painted images/videos of Seeart's sculpt was also his V1. There's been 2 or 3 revisions since then for the final release as he told me last month. And I'm expecting it to be delivered to me by end of this week. I'll definitely take some pics for y'all.

I know he increased the size (though he assured me it was very slight and numerical), and added a mole. Anything else he did?

Um I'm not sure bro as he was just casually telling me and I didn't even ask him to elaborate 🤭 he said he sent the final version for rooting and paint job too so hopefully we can see the differences soon ourselves, if any.

Oh man, I'm so excited.

I'm still on the fence about pulling the trigger on the John Wu as well, and I can't make that choice until I see it finished on a body I guess.

Some are calling it "sleepy joker" and it can come across that way in the wrong angle/pose. Gotta know what you're doing to really sell a sculpt like that. The results can be incredible, but I just need that extra push. I need to see it finished.

Are you sending that one to Heise as well, or are you leaving it to John?

I hate @DiostaR. Not only is he pulling me in more, but he's beating me by 6 Jokers.

Well, 5. I have enough parts for a decent Bank Robber.

I'm also looking forward to those proper on body images/videos of John's fully done sculpt. As Dio said we are not ready for what's coming our way. I'm super excited as well bro!

Yes indeed, I'm gonna send both to Heise. First, he is a very very good friend of mine, secondly he himself is a big Joker fan haha, third he really got some insane skills bro, I just received my Armored Batman mouth plates done by him and I can't tell you how good those look in person. Like a real human mouth and skin tone in 1/6! Plus the amount of patience that guy has is incredible. He won't take any money from you until you are fully satisfied with his work. Such a gem ❤️ And as they both are in the Joker game, I'm really keen to see what wizardry he has up his sleeve 😍

Heise sounds like a great guy. And he'll elevate that sculpt for sure. It would be nice to have his and Yuan's work both at once.

But I only have so much disposable income 🤧🤧
