1/6 Indy Customizations: Image Thread

A cocky smirk would have been fine if they had pulled it off. Instead it looked like Indy had just gone through several hours of extensive dental work. I guess my expectations are different than others. I would have prefered a serious sculpt, or any sculpt, that looked as much like Ford as possible. The 1/6th scale Crystal Skull Indy was ruined by trying to give it an expression.

I also welcome either expression as long as the sculpt achieves the likeness. As far as calling Trevor's headsculpt with the serious expression boring, I have to disagree.

Personally I think the smile captures Indy so perfectly and Harrison so perfectly a neutral faced Indy is just boring... It may be part of why I prefer the other Henry head play head too the films have so much personality it's really key to capturing the character

You and I obviously have very different ideas of what constitutes an accurate portrait sculpt. Which isn't saying one of us is right or wrong. Just different. Very different.

As far as apathy fir recasting? I own the premium format too so no I don't care at all to be honest. I endorse it all the way.

Just to be clear I don't consider any of them boring. I just don't care for them to the degree most others do.

Hey All,

I just received my repainted hatless Indy portrait. As you can tell, I'm using it for my German Disguise Indy. Trevor's sculpt really stands out now don't you think?

I'll prolly end up piecing Indy together. Don't need the robes or idol stand.

Seems there's some talking about that. That's what I want to do.

So I'm eager to hear anyone's suggestions as to BEST PARTS to use.

Aside from headsculpt, I'm thinking about this as a base outfit:

shoes - SS
pants - SS
web belt - SS
holster + belt - HT
bag - SS*
shirt - HT
jacket - either HT is I can work it a little or the legendary Sovereign if I can find one

That is my recipe at the moment.

*Even though HT's bag is better quality, I don't like that the strap want sto bobble up. I think Sideshow's hangs better. But I may change my mind on that.

I have to decide about Map Room Indy because my plan doesn't leave any excess leftover to build a Map Room Indy...which means besides the robe and turban and staff, I'll also need to get shoes, pants and bag. The cost of all that may come too close to the price of the full figure.

I'm considering this option as well... I really have no interest in the full figure, but I think some bits and pieces look great and I think some parts I don't want (like the arabian disguise) will probably sell well parted out.

My hope is the disappointing sculpt could lead to a temporary drop in price and I can nab one for under $200.

Anyone have an opinion on Stevo's Indy belt and holster? Looks pretty nice and a bit cheaper than some of the other custom sets.

Managed to get a clothing set from eBay for $35 (minus jacket and shoes)

I want to display in map room outfit as well. As I've got a new muscle type on order, I just need to pick up another hs and shoes when they are a little more readily available and cheaper.

I was going to look at grabbing parts, but this one looks like you'd be crazy to grab it piecemeal. Given how this has played out, I think getting this for $150 in 4-6 months is not out of the question. It has the muscular body and accessories though, so I can't see it being any lower than that.

Hard to say what the head will be worth though. It looks really decent (8/10) and has PERS but I can't see it being a $50-75 head in 6 months. And it has that same obvious hair seam that Sweeney Todd has, but the hat covers it.

Does anyone know what OMG meant by being "concerned" about the material the leather jacket was made of?

Has anyone posted any in-hand thoughts on the pieces? From what I saw - Shirt/pants look excellent. Gun belt/holster look nice but not quite as good as SSC's (or custom ones), and the web belt looks too dark. Curious how the boots turned out.

Idol pedestal looks as wildly wrong as SSC's!

That's what I'm hoping for.
