Postman just brought me this. My first Kato purchase. I opened the box and when seeing this inhand I just said.. "Oh my god!".

These are just incredible, the scale of stitching, the real leather, I honestly have never seen anything so perfect..

quick iphone pic, will post proper ones later..

Wow kato will these always be up for sale? once someone makes a better indy head i think i will be tempted to buy one.

Kato, those are Crystal Skull jackets, right? Do you have any plans to make a Raiders version? The Raiders jacket is a slightly different pattern to the KOTCS jacket (smaller yoke amongst other things).

It won't be started until I can find the suitable genuine leather in correct color. ( It is sometime in dark olive green tone while sometime look olive brown tone...:slap)

I had a go at repainting the head. It's a tricky one to get the skin right on. The first thing it needs is some red washes, he is waay too tan/brown. Let me know what you think...These are WIP pics, out of sequence..

WOW! Looks REAL! I love that!

What did you do besides the red washes? Did you just paint over the existing paint?

Yes, I had to get a good base first to take the acrylic, then I added, skin tone, shadows and stubble. If you slightly extend the eyebrows at the brow upwards it looks much more like Ford.
I haven't touched the guy liner yet.

VERY VERY well done. I don't have the nerve to repaint the head. What do you mean by extend the eyebrows? In towards the middle, sort of angle them upward closer together? Before and after pics?

Again, AWESOME! :clap

Did you add the "sweat" or is that just the paint drying?

What colors did you use for a base coat? And when did you use the red wash?

I'm not a full-fledged painter so I don't want to take a crack at an entire repaint, but I would like to add a little 'reddish' flush to his face.

I also totally agree with the 'furrowed' brow tip -- very Ford-like expression.

I will post some more details later guys. I have a two year old looking for my attention!

I mixed a skin coat, yellow/white/red/brown close to the original. I gave it a wash base, barely noticeable. Then I added red washes to the cheek bones, nose etc. then I added dark brown washes to the shadowy areas. My biggest problem with this head was it looked a bit plasticy, this helps that. Then I added sweat, use acrylic varnish. You need to be careful with that. A little gives it skin tone a lot looks like he is wet.
