One more MOD for today, the infamous SOVEREIGN jacket... this has been like a lost grail for me for many years but a kindly ol' boardmember showed me the way.

Hot Toys jacket.................................................Sov jacket

So which looks better? :)

So I got eyes and jacket done today, that's huge for me...

Great job on the eyes. :clap
The Sov Jacket is definitely better but a rare find these days. But the Hot Toys jacket can be futzed to hang a little better. I used the paper clip trick on the collar and glued the ends of the collar down.

That does look good. Actually I quite like the HT jacket, just the collar tabs bug me and it's difficult to shape where the pockets are.

I did find that if you twist the sleeves, they will hold the wrinkles and it looks a lot better.

Here's Indy today...

VERY HAPPY WITH HIM! Takes some futzing but he's really quite a nice figure.

When I get around to it, I will probably swap out the bag strap, and definitely do the water trick on the shirt. Like to buy a new whip and holster also.

I had one extra head so I gave it a go. I used non-acetone nail polish remover and a toothpick and it worked like a charm. Using the remover, the sculpt under the paint seemed the same color so there was no need to use a wash or anything to blend. Getting rid of the guyliner makes a huge difference.

got any pics ?

Is it the coarseness of the whip you don't like?

And are you getting the new holster because the HT one is the wrong color or because of the overall feel of it quality-wise?

I don't like the large scale of the braided whip.

I don't like the large scale of the holster, nor the shape. I may futz with it and snip off the bottom to see if I can make it smaller.

That looks very good Wor-Gar, I dunno if I really notice the eyeliner that much on my figure so I dunno if I am gonna try that or not yet, but yours looks great I can tell your happy with it. :clap

Thanks very much. Yeah, some have less eyeliner than others. You may have gotten a good one that way. If it doesn't bother you, don't mess with it.

I was one of the unlucky ones with the more noticeable guyliner. It bothered me enough to try the fix Cavlcade showed. It was a little trickier than I thought once I started, stupidly by scraping rather than just going straight to paint. Anyway, I got it smoothed out and painted a lighter color and now he looks better in hand and much better in close-up photos as you can see.

I thought that when your first pics went up that it definitely looked much darker around the eyes than I was seeing on mine. Glad you were able to remedy that problem... you got him looking great now. I like your jacket as well... still keeping him on the muscle body?

still keeping him on the muscle body?

Yeah, so far I haven't found the muscle body to be bad. The new jacket 'slumps' the shoulder so he doesn't look at broad. The neck has other issues but I don't see it as too thick for Indy. That said, I haven't really tried any other body yet. Once I start to really futz this guy -- strip him down and rebuild from scratch once I have all the parts -- then I may try a Soldier Story body just to see.

Thnaks for the kind comments.

Nice work WG!!! :clap:clap:clap
I too am really happy with my Indy!
I'll be doing some minor adjustments in the upcoming days!
See how that goes!!
:rock!

Postman just brought me this. My first Kato purchase. I opened the box and when seeing this inhand I just said.. "Oh my god!".

These are just incredible, the scale of stitching, the real leather, I honestly have never seen anything so perfect..

quick iphone pic, will post proper ones later..

That's freaking crazy!!!!! how long does it take from when you send the payment till it arrives? Does he custom made them or he has some in stock?

Depends on where you live I guess?
Not sure about your other question, PM him and ask?

:)

It depends on which delivery method you use. For his example Speedpost(EMS) service take around 4~6days from HK to USA, while register airmail sometime takes more than one month due to parcel inspection for fear of 911

Amazing, amazing work Kato. Worth every penny.
:clap:clap:clap

Really beautiful work, Kato! THAT'S what the HT jacket and shirt SHOULD have been like. I only wish I could afford a set! :(
