What the hell, I swear this figure is like the episode of Seinfeld...

Buy the HT and sell off the SS poopoo version.

Have been very impressed with a lot of what I have seen in this thread recently with the Hot Toys Indy, trying to catch up to you guys, just removed the "guy liner" today, trying different jackets ... have a long way yet still to go:

I actually really like the HT version. I sold off all my Mfishers.

??? Really shorty?? I,m surprised, the HT is not even the right color!

Mfisher's stuff could make the HT figure I have better, I have all his o stuff on my other custom Indy and next to it its so much better overall. but the truth is im sure the HT will be sold before long. It's just a bad figure. I'll stand by that. It's a good base for mods so it's gving a lot who want to customize it but right out of the bix I honestly think it;'s very poor. the best ones here have a lot of amazing custom work in there and it's produced great results.

Rorywan, Calvacade, shortround, commtech and a few others all put some amazing work into this with amazing results. I'm blown away at how much Rory got his to look like ford. Really blown away.

Thanks man! Coming from you that's a real compliment.
I'm waiting on Mfisher TOD stuff and a new machette to finish it off.

I mean it man it's one of the most jaw dropping custom jobs I've seen. Its tempted me to do my own but the truth is I don't think I could do as brilliant a job as you. the subtitles on the head in both shading as well as the cuts and scrapes not to mention the sweat effect is incredible!

For the brow. did you paint the fronts, closest to the bridge of his nose in an upwards extension sort of way? I couldn't figure out what you did but the brow looks so much more like him now!

Yeah, thats exactly what I did Ray. I also enhanced the left side of the mouth into a little more of a grin. These little things, help bring out Ford.

I have done quite a bit more to the clothing since I last posted pics. I noticed dipping the shirt in acrylic satin varnish gives it a fantastic almost wet look. I will try and take some proper pics when I get all the final bits together. I had a lot of fun doing it, and I now feel like I have a proper Indy standing on my desk, but i completely agree, out of the box, this is a poor release.

Seriously Ray that means a lot coming from you! You inspired me to get the Kato outfit and I inspired my friends. So thank you buddy.

The Fisher gear is really nice, don't get me wrong, but the buckle size and width of the belt is all wrong. I asked Mike if he can thin the belts out to about half the width but he never got back to me. The HT versions are a lot more accurate. As far as the holster, I'm pretty sure it's dark brown in the movie. The damn thing changes color through out the film, it's frustrating. :lol
I think Mike said he's making new ones for the HT gun. Have to wait and see. Can't wait to see his new whips too.

I'm super honored to have inspired you! You were always one of the biggest Indy fans around here, it's nice to see how well your custom has shaped up. A true strong representation of the character. Especially since we put that work into that kaiburr PF head which I still think will make a nice alternate head for your Indy as well when it's done.

You're definitely right about the color of many things about Indy's gear in Raiders being hard to read or incosnstent. I think some striaght up weatheirng on the HT gear can take it far.

One thing i agree about is the width on the belt being off and I like the metal belt buckle but anyone else think it's too dark?? It looks almost black.

Thanks so much Ray! Yes the kaiburr PF head is still standing by to be painted. I have 3 Kato outfits because of you. :lol
So I'm gonna go with a TLC version of Indy for that one. Hide that exposed neck. Give em a machine gun and tie. You know? Can't wait!! :yess:

Colour aside, for some unknown reason HT decided to make theirs too big.

For Raiders the standard Webley-style holster was cut down to match the cut-down Smith & Wesson.

Standing on the shelf I can't help but think of my HT Indy as a representation from TOD or TLC. But that's not a bad thing. :)

Yeah man, you're right. I didn't know what I was talking about. I didn't know that Arnie did one a few years ago. I thought this guy meant the original sculpt for the DX HT ( wow, Arnie's skills have improved since then)...but still...he wants $1500, which is hella lame, and it looks like poop IMHO.

ahaha you don't know what you're talking about! Wan lee is one of the best customisers and painters of the world! He knows everyone in the business! It's the first indy headsculpt that arnie did few years ago! If I had the money right now, I will take it in a heartbeat! Own one of the Lalla's personnal figure is just a dream for a fan of his work!

I sent that exact same pic to mfisher and asked if he could match the color for my 1/6 Raiders holster. It's en-route to me now so I'm excited to see it in person.

Is this a brand new holster made to fit the HT S&W?

I was toying with the idea of getting one to give me the ROTLA option.

I was also toying with the idea of trying to make one using the plans on the Indygear.com page - but scaling the plan correctly is a problem. (Unless I could work it out from the real Webley holsters I have).

Yes, mfisher has scaled these to suit the size of the HT S&W.

I asked Mike if he can thin the belts out to about half the width but he never got back to me

This question/suggestion has come up a few times over the past few years.. and I have addressed it in the threads.. I openly agree about the issue of leather thickness.. I'd like to be able to make thinner ones.. the width is pretty close to correct however.. the issue with the belt thickness and the width is a result of two factors... the first being that I am restricted to fabricating the belts to fit the available buckles... But, an actual leather gun belt is about 45 mm in width.. making a 1/6 version 7.5 mm in width to be perfect... mine are 7mm to fit the buckles... so yes my belts are off by a half millimeter in width.. which honestly is not very noticeable... as for thickness.. that's the key issue I am not satisfied with.. but the leather has to be thick enough to seat a magnet below the surface to make the whip keeper functional.. and if I shave the leather too thin it makes the buckle look awkwardly thick.. what would be ideal is if I could source better buckles that were still made of steel and also thinner in their construction as well... but I have been searching for years and have yet to come up with a better source for the 1/6 buckles..
