Yes he did, still waiting on my repaint...... Will be 3 years this upcoming March. This has made me a very patient man. :)

You and me both! But Les rocks. He's such an amazing talent and a true gentleman. Personally, I can wait as long as it takes for Les to perfect my repaints! :hi5:

I'm going to dye my HT shirt more gray. Maybe even give the pants a dunk to cool them off so they're not so warm.

cking or anyone know what Ritt gray dye I should use? Their standard "pearl gray" is pretty good, pretty cool because it has blue in it.

I got one shot at this so I want to be sure.

He looks like a homeless Andrew Garfield to me.

Okay, let me start off by saying, I maybe new to this thread but I'm not a novice when it comes to customizing figures and models. It's been a hobby of mine for over 25+ years or so. I've tackled resin, plastic, vinyl, ceramic, etc. and collecting and sculpting as well as painting is fun hobby of mine.

With that being said, I bow down, that's right bow down to the talent and creativity that I see on this thread. All of you, specifically Rorywan, Wor Gar, Commtech, Cking, Cavalcade, Short round, Raymond Ferraro, Stgod,
and any others that decide to customize their indys, The group I just mentioned I'm speechless, You truly have inspired me, and thank you so much for making me realize that this purchase, despite the initial photos was absolutely worth the risk, because Indiana and Harrison are true icons of film imo. I apologize if my pics seem redundant or the same theme, as much as I like to display this piece in different surroundings, I don't have the space or the available funds at this time, so I have to go what is around me. I hope any of you have enjoyed my scenarios, with lack of scenary options, I tried to project a sense of how much I enjoy the character with little background to work with.

Once again Your group and the others are truly masters of this art, and it is a extreme honor to view your dedication and work, because I can see the passion you feel as do I in this magnificent character of the films.:clap :clap

Now, I decided to strip my revision and I realized that the over all beard appearance was much lighter, even in the different lighting , so I started the redux process using references from Raider.net, and of course, there is no way to duplicate a live action portrait to a figure, but I did the best I can so here are some of the results, I'm still in the process. I'm trying so hard to not loose the look of Ford, but it's a struggle.

Like I said I'm still in the process, but what do you think so far

Looks great Guyver. I personally think that, oddly enough, the lighter beard helps with the HF likeness. What did you do specifically besides lighten the beard? Did you also paint over the eyeliner?

And I think it was Rory that mentioned touching up the eyebrows in the middle so they take a slightly upwards turn.

I found it:

For the brow. did you paint the fronts, closest to the bridge of his nose in an upwards extension sort of way? I couldn't figure out what you did but the brow looks so much more like him now!

Yeah, thats exactly what I did Ray. I also enhanced the left side of the mouth into a little more of a grin. These little things, help bring out Ford.

Something you might consider doing as well--it seems to work!

Mike,

The original Raiders gunbelt (made by Bermans and Nathans under the direction of Noel Howard) was 38 mm wide (1.5 inches - I emailed you a pic of my full size replica belt which was made by Noel Howard). Therefore - if your 1/6 belts are 7 mm, they're actually pretty close. For a true 1/6 scale belt, it would be 6.3 mm wide so like I said - you're not a million miles off and for the purposes of display - it's going to look dead on.

Looking forward to receiving my set.

Chris

This question/suggestion has come up a few times over the past few years.. and I have addressed it in the threads.. I openly agree about the issue of leather thickness.. I'd like to be able to make thinner ones.. the width is pretty close to correct however.. the issue with the belt thickness and the width is a result of two factors... the first being that I am restricted to fabricating the belts to fit the available buckles... But, an actual leather gun belt is about 45 mm in width.. making a 1/6 version 7.5 mm in width to be perfect... mine are 7mm to fit the buckles... so yes my belts are off by a half millimeter in width.. which honestly is not very noticeable... as for thickness.. that's the key issue I am not satisfied with.. but the leather has to be thick enough to seat a magnet below the surface to make the whip keeper functional.. and if I shave the leather too thin it makes the buckle look awkwardly thick.. what would be ideal is if I could source better buckles that were still made of steel and also thinner in their construction as well... but I have been searching for years and have yet to come up with a better source for the 1/6 buckles..

Thanks for the photo... perfect ! I have literally spent the last few years searching for the best buckle I can get... still not 100% happy but what I have now is the best I have found... one day I will get an improvement :)

Yeah, I did reduce the eyeliner, it was a process. first I did a pink wash just above the bottom eyelid, but then it hot to pink, so I tried to mix it with a flesh tone, and then I lost the pink completely :slap, so I quickly started to rub away the excess flesh, and then I realized in the process it rubbed off the the subtle black streaks that were factory pasted on the lids, I then decided to try a lighter pink wash and lightly brushed it over the lids, then I decided to rub off the excess around the eye lid, and the result was I got a very subtle pinkish tone slightly accented on the rim of the eyelid. wheew! I was worried that when it would eventually dry, I thought it might look to pink, but thank god when it did finally dry I got a pinkish hue tone for the eyelid which seemed to represent the human eyelid
I'd say I was relieved and pleased with the results

Guyver it looks greats and give you GREAT props for taking the courage to improve your figure as a novice to customizing. no better way to learn than to jump right in and you have achieved great results!

I try, it's quite fun actually, btw, like I said, I'm not a stranger to customizing, I've been doing it for years,:lol but this is my first attempt to customizing a indiana jones, so I'm having a blast in the process. :hi5:

In case, you've been wondering, my signature comes from an anime character favorite of mine. Here's a vinyl piece of the character I'm using as my signature I did eons ago, using nothing but drybrush in the technique.

Is he under an anaesthetic at this point because he looks out of it?

I find it really weird that this is the first image where I feel he really looks a bit like Ford. But in the ones where he's dressed normally he doesn't so much? Odd.
