And I think this is the Indy I'm sticking with, pretty sad when I was 28 or so when I started working on an Indy custom (my first custom and the one that dragged me into all this as well) and all the time and money involved in one figure. I'll be 42 this year by the way.
That's awesome man; got to respect the dedication! It's crazy how no one company was able to give us a definitive Indy. But, bits and pieces from them can add up to a great figure.
Trev's sculpt is still by far the best, IMO.
I have to agree with this.
I put the SS head on the HT Indy body early on and the proported bobblehead SS sculpt looks much better in scale than the itsy-bitsy HT head. Too bad you can't repaint the SS sculpt because of the toxic resin they used which eats away your paint or makes the head "sweat".
Like has been mentioned before I also just dipped mine in rubbing alcohol and wiped away as much of the paint as I could. I'd previously had it painted by someone else, but the paint was always tacky. After I wiped away the tacky new paint and took off a layer of the sealant the repaint I did never sweated again.
For anyone that doesn't rate the SSC sculpt, allow me to remind you what Les Walker did with it:
Still the first and most impressive repaint I've seen of this sculpt. Les had a real eye for repaints. But sadly...
I used to have a ton of respect for Les and tried to support him through all the drama that followed, but the fact that its years later and he is still holding onto property of other is pretty unforgivable. It's one thing to skip out on services owed, as bad as that already is, its even worse to still be holding onto peoples property.
The LEAST he could do it get people their sculpts back.
These are very old wounds on the board and really don't need to be brought back up though. Nothing good will ever come of it, if Les cared enough to right his wrongs he would have done it by now. *sigh*....shameful behavior..... *shakes head*
Yeah, Les has personally been a major disappointment to me. I've met the guy in person and talked with him many times. But now he's just moved on completely and left everyone in the lurch. After 3 years of waiting for a head I asked him one time when he thought it would be done and he jumped down my throat. I've written him off completely.
On a brigther note since we're sharing our customs in order to hide our pain... I really like the combo of the Saito (or maybe it was Ezio) body and SS head. I think the proportions of the two work well:
Not to mention, with some customization the Ford sculpt can be used to make a lot of great figures
