That futz/replacement part mod actually looks pretty good, Fiend. It has a good presence. I think if you can track down a pair of the SSC KOTCS Indy pants (more baggy) it might look even better.

Its funny you mention it because I was wondering if one of Sideshow pair may look better just the other day. Ill keep a look out for them. Thanks. :)

Here's my crap-ola Indy.

I think it looks pretty nice. Good work on the jacket!

Bro, i think you r the one that most got that dx clothes futzed to their potential.
congrats

Thanks for all the compliments guys. :) I beat the hell out of that jacket. :lol

I sincerely hope Sideshow pulls it off with the TOD Indy. Ill wait till in hand pics are up till then.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TheFiend again.

I agree, it looks great, Fiend! Nice job! :clap

Even the face looks better!

How did you darken the Hot Toys jacket? Drybrushing with acrylics?

Finishing up my U.S Army disguise Dovchenko custom. Scratch built the harness:

Still need to figure out how to do the 5 patches though.

That looks awesome ChibiSchmoo! I love the uniform and real fabric pouches! Heres mine that I did a while ago. Parts of it and the chain has been updated since then though. I found the correct patches for the shirt at PATCHES OF PRIDE

I love those Indy customs really do and love to watch what people make and how they customise.

Alright, yall.

I've joined your ranks (I'm now a proud Hot Toys DX05 owner - I'm ashamed that it took me this long, but I definitely paid the penalty $$$ lol). I realize that much custom work is required to make this guy proper. I'm currently at Page 98 (that's the LONG form, so for everybody who hasn't changed their settings, it's probably page 898).

I've been a little rough with the figure, and I've gotten the head apart (no tools, no heating, just a little careful thumb action). The PERS came out ridiculously easy, and now I'm trying to decide how to proceed to the next step. Freaks like Rory and Wor-Gar have listed plenty of info, but I'm curious if there's a new consensus.

Here are my questions at this point:

1.) What is the best method to remove the eyeliner (sorry, I refuse to call it guyliner)? Is it removal via rubbing alcohol/nail polish remover? Or washes with reddish paint to minimize its appearance? Looking at my PERS-less headsculpt, there appears to be very little, if any, shadow on the lower eyelid (despite the horrible cell phone pics), but a clear black line on the top eyelid.

2.) For those that have tried it, is it worth cutting into the back of the headsculpt so that the PERS eyeballs fit closer? To me, that is the biggest improvement to the sculpt... getting the eyeballs to be close-set, rather than the DEEP-set way they come shipped. I'm positive that these questions have been answered at length already, and I'm definitely making my way through this thread, but a bit of cheating never hurt anyone!

Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses to share some info!

For the eyeliner, I just used a toothpick soaked in alcohol (or nail varnish remover, I wouldn't normally recommend it, but it worked fine on this), just gently rub the edge of the stick off of the paint you want to remove, then maybe use a cotton bud to clean up. As soon as you start you will figure it out, very easy.

I know what you mean about the depth setting of the eyes. but be careful, very careful of messing with the eyelids or socket inside. The plastic doesn't sand well and is quite soft, so you could end up with some horrible looking eye holes very easily. Another freak tried this and sent it to me to fix, it was unsaveable.
