That sculpt is really awesome, gonna be really pricey too. I might have to start putting away £10 a week towards it....hmmm.

Who knows, if the SS ToD sculpt is a complete bust, maybe I'll take out a second mortgage to be able to pic one of these up ;)

Typical, the sculpt we want arrives and it's priced so the ones that really want it can't afford it and the ones that can laud it over us for evermore. Ah well....

Time to talk nicely to Toria Cassaro methinks......

I don't see why the sculpt's price is such a big deal. Let's be honest here: everything about this hobby is overpriced, to most people; you go on any one of these mainstream websites' posts about the most recent Hot Toys release, and, between all of the "that's amazing"s and "I thought it was a real person"s, you'll find at least one person saying "who in their right mind would pay $200 for a toy?" I've always looked at it as "you can get whatever you want so long as you prioritize your purchases." That's why I don't find customs as outlandish as some do, because I'm okay with paying for one custom of a character I really love, instead of buying two HT figures that I just "kinda" like.

It's all down to the individual. Personally, my financial situation means I have to justify every purchase. For example, although HT's GOTG figures look great, I'd never buy them because the film doesn't mean that much to me. So I don't ever buy figures that I 'kinda like', as you put it. I'd love to own both of the McClane and Indy custom headsculpts, as they're both characters that mean a lot to me, but there's no way I could justify paying more than the cost of complete dx hot toys figure for just a head. I don't begrudge people that do, whatever makes them happy, it's just not for me. Clearly there are enough people who feel differently from me for customisers to be able to charge these prices.

250 for an amazing sculpt.....already painted. It would cost ya about that to get an unpainted and to have it painted that well by anyone else. Probably more.

As I've said, it's up to the individual. But I would say I've got the HT dx Bruce Lee that has two fantastic headsculpts, body, effectively three outfits, multiple weapons and a reversable diorama for cheaper than that single head. Guess I'll just have to hope Art Figures produce their own Nakatomi Cop more to my budget ;)

Small run customs will always be more.....they aren't made in a big factory like hot toys so they can make em as cheap.
