i think it looks decent. They should have given him a rubber torso sleeve, to add a little girth and hide the visible gaps around his waist area. The leather is always going to be a compromise, make it thin enough and we complain about durability issues.

When I saw the photo of the back I also realised they probably pulled his shirt down lower than on the prototype in order to hide the joint.

This is the spare body I'm planning to use for him:

It's narrow waisted but the torso joint is lower, so the corset will cover it. The upper part of the corset will be around the lower ribs where the body's wider.

Yeah, the body is far too slim. Just the wrong choice of stock body for this character. The head sculpt is okay and representative of what we can come to expect now in the world of 3rd party 1:6 figures. The rest looks like a prototype or test figure with parts borrowed from other kits and tacked on to the wrong body. I mean, those clipped feathers look like they were pulled from a craft box. Nothing is tailored, fitted, weathered or nuanced to create the illusion of accuracy.

But this is just one photo and I don't want to be "that guy" who jumped out of the gate with an uninformed rant review. I don't want to be, but I guess I just did. :) Let's see some more!

Yup, its a winner.

I am not actually that convinced it needs a body swap. Of course all figures can benefit from ditching the stock body for a custom one, but the narrow point on this body seems to be the fact that the corset is tight, you may just be able to loosen it and give the illusion of a thicker midesection.

I also suspect these shots, while taken well, are still an out of the box level shots. There is minimal futzing here. The feathers alone should lay flat, and not be so flaired up. That alone will make it look ten times better.

Heed sculpt is great, maybe a better paint job to the war paint. (really depends on which look from the film your going for)

I think the outfit is passable. It needs a few small upgrades. I think the cords on the shoulder pads need better thread, and as previously mentioned, the hands need work, perhaps custom wraps.

Weathering will be important as well.

So far, out of the box, looks good to me. These are the figures I love, decent start that will benefit immensely from easy to do additions and upgrades.

From the limited pictures this looks to be as solicited but with inferior paint, minimal weathering, no futzing/posing and worse lighting and photography. I'm not convinced anything needs to be swapped to get it looking like the proto and I haven't re-read but I don't recall there being changes desired from that. But all these desert apocalypse figures benefit from minimal to major overhauls.

How it scales next to other figures will also be interesting.

yeah , scale is gonna be a concern. He was a pretty big guy right?

We need go make sure he's not a Furiosa scale

Looks fairly solid to me, better than I was fearing after no pictures. I'm very happy that his "corset" can be widened with the buckle on back. Something I couldn't do with tubby Joe.

Can't wait to see more... maybe even a review on youtube.

Mine's already arrived in Los Angeles. Wish this SpeedX would give estimates for delivery like USPS does.

speedpak can give estimates, mine says 16-23…..

Nice and exact.

My last package from Kit took 6 days to get to me (Conundrum Man).

Package at destination airport doesn't even tell me which airport. I'm hoping LAX. I loved when USPS took over because I got specific updates. Now, to save money I guess, this new SpeedX doesn't bother with updates except once a work-day, very late at night.

Interesting, I always have the opposite.

(East coast)

Once it gets to USPS, its a nightmare. Rare tracking is correct…half the time I get it and its not showing delivered for days.

I'm still deciding how 'all-in' I need to go to be happy with this figure, but hoping there's some parts out there like the proper should pads, or something that requires less work than scratchbuilding.. but the more I think about that the less it seems to be a problem.
This is a good little list for reference purposes, forgive me if it's been shared previously.

This all depends on your OCD level. Do you want a decent representation of the character, or do you want prop level scale miniature?

I am of the former group.

I have seen the rabbit hole the latter group gets up to…no thanks!

Ironically the worst OCD offenders for 1/6 include
Mad Max
Jason Friday the 13th
Michael Myers (serious OCD in that group)
Star Wars (Vader in particular)

I went totally hardcore on the Dark Toys Deckard and still love and appreciate the results today for all the work it was. There's hardly a part of that that wasn't reworked or customised or repainted or resewn. But that was a dream figure I've been waiting forever for, Wez isn't on the same level of lifetime-neeed.

But I love the Wez character design and since I saw him for the first time in the advertising for Mad Max 2 in 1981 I idealised him as the ultimate post apocalypse punk bad guy. This stuff is burned into my childhood memory and makes it a hard piece of nostalgia to resist.

So much of Wez's character design was instrumental in any post-apocalyptic character since the release of Mad Max 2 that it gives him probably more weight and value than an actual Mad Max Gibson figure; in the scope of my collection anyway.

I think this is a figure I can really sink my teeth in to and get a very accurate representation of the on screen character with a bit of inventiveness and time. My creative resources are focused elsewhere though currently, but I can see myself making time for working on this if I can visual the processes required in my head.

I'm gonna have to try Phicen male body. Not sure which one would work best.
Mine is also stuck in ShaTian,DongGuan since 3/11

My tracking finally came back to normality after recording the same event three days apart:

ShaTian,DongGuan / Shipment arrived at facility and measured

He's progressing as usual, and Royal Mail now also recognise the associated tracking number.

It seems like he was misrouted, bypassing the part when they're supposed to inform Royal Mail, then returned to start the process again.
