Love the sideshow statue it seems to be based on, so I I preordered. Will go nicely with my HT Comic figures. Hopefully the final figure is quality and I didn't just buy a lemon. The only non-HT figures I have in my collection are the COO Model Monsters and a Samurai.

Even Kit said it was expensive.

He'll just have to stand like everyone else. :lol

Could easily be due to its big size and weight. Keep in mind these are shipped prices from Kit.
Right, I don’t blame Kit in any way. I don’t see that price being really any different anywhere else. It’s just disappointing the makers couldn’t get it any cheaper. It’s just probably a heavy solid piece that has minimal or no assembly. Maybe just placing the throne on the steps is all so the box is going to be big and heavy on this.

We’ll probably see some place put this up for quite a bit cheaper but the catch will be that it’s a price without shipping costs. I am curious what that might be though.

Jesus that shipping price is monstrous.....
Not Kit's fault - must be a solid bit of Polystone.
Not a chance I'm spending that kind of money on this - nice as it is.

Companies are going to have to think about making pieces like this out of less heavy materials - a durable slightly weighted plastic would have sufficed, been cheaper to produce, cheaper price to the customer, captured details equally as well and been far less heavy for shipping costs.
Some environmental/diorama pieces do need the weight to be stable, but this is a throne with a large footprint and a low centre of gravity - no wobble issue to worry about.

A pity.

I do wonder if any stateside retailers will have this for any less or if it’s just going to be an expensive piece no matter what place it’s coming from.

No idea why the hell the company wouldn’t just make this out of some cheap light plastic. Zero reason for this to be some heavy polystone-like piece. :hammerhead:

My own chair doesn't cost that much. I'm not spending half a grand on a ******* doll chair, I don't care how heavy it is. If I get this Counterfeit Doom, he'll stand like the Hasbro Dooms. When HT shows some official ones, we'll see about a throne. But honestly, I've always wanted to get a couple of "guys in thrones" statues when I'd be nearing the end of my pop culture collecting, so there's that too. Whatever, I'm rushing again.

Now I'm rooting for a knockoff 1/6th comic Namor, but I know that it's a longshot. I caved in and ordered the old Walgreens Namor for 60€... And the tracking code got lost. And the Omnibus is out of stock so unless I spend 200€, I'm out of luck. Why doesn't the universe want me to get my Namor fix?!

Now, had this been available straight off the bat, I probably would have just slapped an order down and taken the hit.

However, since the promo shots, I’ve paid for Eternal Toys Vulture, Kurt Cobain in 1/6 and 1/4, Gandalf the White, Present Toys Terminator and The Mask, Doomsday Lightning (Flash,) a couple of Transformers, almost a grands’ worth of acrylic sheets and magnetic tape for my display shelving and I’d still like to order Mondo God of War and both those 3P Edward Scissorhands. There simply is no more money for this. Technically, I went over budget after Cobain…

It was throne and Doom or nothing for me so… Nothing it is.

I do think Doom should ship with the throne though because I doubt adding his weight to the overall package would make much of a difference to the cost, which would ultimately save a little cash.

Hot Toys made the Boba Fett throne out of plastic and it looks fine. The fact they still make this kind of stuff out of polystone shows just how ignorant the people running these companies are. Of course, it probably wouldn’t stop them charging top-end prices anyway, just like HT does.
