so cool!! I'm hoping you'll be able to get him complete soon, Mr. Fusion. :) castings should start rolling soon.

Thanks, Trev! And that's awesome news.

:lol Good one.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Oh thats excellent, consider doing a Frank Bannister from The Frighteners?? Pretty please?

Even considering that I would FREAKNLY LOVE to bash this character...
The character itself is too dramatic and movie are... not too cheerful :lol
So this is totallllllly not his expression.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Trev, its a great sculpt that looks alot like MJF, but honestly im not digging it.

Most noticably the expression is really wierd. Marty spent the better part of the trilogy with a stunned or confused look, this wierd smirk that he has going on looks more like he just told a dirty joke under his breath. Kind of out of character.

Second of all, whats with the long wavy hair.

Lastly the face is a bit too full. Back in 85 MJF was still skinny. Looks more like Doc Hollywood than Marty McFly.

Come to think of it, this looks almost exactly like Doc Hollywood.

I actually don't see any wavy hair in there. :dunno
I think the smirk looks cool. The guy smiles sometimes in the movie dude. :lol

That Doc Holiday ad is a direct rip-off of this fairly iconic image.

Hair looks good to me.

The expression captures Marty's attitude IMO.

I find Trev's ability to freeze-frame an expression in three dimensions uncanny. I won't gush because we've already spoken but keep it up, T! :duff

He also sleeps and eats sometimes in the movies too. Maybe the expression should have been with closed eyes or chewing food.

Sure he smiled a few times here and there. But it isnt really representitive of the character. A confused or wide eyed look would have been.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

You have every right to dislike the work, Shadowx81.
My initial sculpt was based on the way Marty looks throughout the film...tense brow, open mouth, no smirk. It looked bad to me, (too old) and I finally realized that, for me, the BTTF films are fun, and Marty is really synonymous with Michael J Fox...so I opted to give him more of the MJF charm.

as far as the hair...I have no defense...I failed cosmetic school. (I kid, I kid)

That said...I'm perfectly fine with you disliking it, and I understand your criticism. This is just an artistic representation of a character. Ideally, I'd love to make a sculpt of Marty that feels like Drew Struzan's art, but it just wasn't working for me...

Thanks!
Trev

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Have to agree with ShadowX81 (partly)... There is indeed room for a second sculpt with a more shocked/confused/disbelieving expression. Nevertheless the actual one is already perfect for what it is. Maybe we are lucky and will get a second head later down the road... There are enough outfits to kitbash... :)

Personally for display I'd rather have an upbeat mischievous look than a shocked face. I think the expression is excellent. Also MJF face was more full in the 1st film than the last two, go back and look. I highly doubt anyone will get a better likeness and I can't wait for one.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

I thought it was terrific of Erick Sosa (Zkulptor) to drop by with praise for this sculpt. I dunno whether Trev is even aware that Erick had unveiled a rough version of his own Marty only about two weeks ago. I'd think with two such different interpretations from two supremely talented sculptors who manage to appreciate each other's work, there ought to be something for everyone's taste. It's a great time to be part of this board.
