Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Well said, Gruff!

Unfortunately, no artist can give an ideal interpretation that will please everyone...but thankfully there are plenty of very capable artists willing to give everyone options.I was really happy to learn that Erick and I happened to be working on the same thing, unbeknownst to eachother. Especially cool for me, since Erick gave me a lot of guidance and help when I was starting out in the biz.

:lol @ people who don't hesitate to offer critique but get all crabby when their critique is critiqued. :lol

Great job on Marty. The idealized look definitely works better than a blow-up doll face.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Erick's sculpt will satisfy those who want a serious Marty, I can find absolutely nothing wrong with Trevor's sculpt. Then again, I am a Trevor Grove fanboy :lol

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

I thought it was terrific of Erick Sosa (Zkulptor) to drop by with praise for this sculpt. I dunno whether Trev is even aware that Erick had unveiled a rough version of his own Marty only about two weeks ago. I'd think with two such different interpretations from two supremely talented sculptors who manage to appreciate each other's work, there ought to be something for everyone's taste. It's a great time to be part of this board.

I am actually in awe of this sculpt, as with every likeness Trev does, or any of his works for that matter. We spoke, and we both agree there's more than enough room for everyone to have fun doing these iconic characters, the more the merrier! he certainly has yet again raised the bar with this Marty likeness, and knowing Trev he will find a way to improve it.. cannot wait for Doc!

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

So we will get two complete different sculpts?! Looks like I have to look for a second outfit. :yess:
Anybody any ideas for a BTTF2 Marty?

Shirt and pants are easy enough (as long as the pants pockets can be turned inside out :lol), but the jacket, shoes and hat would all need to be custom made. Although Trev said he may tackle the Mags, so that just leaves the Jacket and hat (and the hat isn't even totally necessary, although I would love it). Where are you, tailors!?

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Calcifer- I'm working on Christopher Lloyd at the moment, to complete the BTTF set. I'm almost finished with my Firefly series, and after that I do have a lot of characters I've been wanting to do...probably not ones that a lot of folks would want, but I still want to sculpt them for fun. :)

Here are some size comparisons for anyone worried about size, compared to some of my other work and the standard Hot Toys TrueType head.

Wow that looks so good please put me on the list of there is a list....

just outstanding work

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Would someone be willing to post the Marty mcfly design here? Small enough for a 1/6 shirt.....obviously. :lol
I wanna print it on some fabric. I remember someone did it for the joker shirt in kato's thread but I don't remember who. Thanks guys.

Perhaps ask Beto? He might take up the project, but no idea if hes busy or not.

What bout the hover board? If you have the Air Mags, you gotta have the Mattel hover board :lecture

Beto is about the only tailor I have not pitched the project to :lol He planned on doing a Marty set a while back (a long while), but nothing ever came of it. He seems to be preoccupied with his horror stuff :dunno It's a shame because I own his Doc Brown radiation suit and it is fantastic.

Oh and you are 188% correct about the hover board :exactly:

Beto is super busy right now. It will take forever to get the clothes.:(

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

The parts to bash Marty (a while back) had to disappear to somewhere, I'm anxious to know who snatched them up and has a headless bash waiting!

The absence of a tailor to do this sculpt justice, and provide a clothing solution to some additional collectors is a straight-up 1/6 travesty. I honestly can't believe that one hasn't jumped right on this, with a character this iconic, and a sculpt this phenomenal.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

That is a shame that it's tough to find a tailor. Surely some talent will turn up!

Castings should be ready to go for my 1985 Marty. I'll start getting in touch with folks this evening.

This is strictly for the hardcore BTTF fans, but I'm also going to release an alternate hairstyle to better match Marty's 2015 look, as well as a "Clint Eastwood" version (with hat) for 1885. :) Just some options for folks.

Later!
Trev
