Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Thanks Rogster :) I bought some dark denim iron-on patches, sanded off a majority of the glue that comes on them (it was making the material way to thick), cut the appropriate pieces, ironed them on carefully and viola!

I was gonna say. It doesn't look as bad you said Dane. Looks pretty damn good to me.

Decided to take a crack at adding the denim pattern to my Marty bash's jacket. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Wow Dane that brings it to a new level. Came out fantastic!! You need to slim down those pants though buddy.

Thanks Hector :duff You're right, I'm looking for an entirely new pair altogether. I think I might get a pair of Kato's and give them a quick bleaching...but the thought scares me.
Marf:

Slimming down the pants is easy sir! Just flip them inside out and sew along the inside seam of the pant legs. Works wonderfully as long as you do it straight. ;)

Worth a shot if you're already in the market for another pair. If you mess up, just take the stitching out.

Thanks for the tip Beeshaw, I may just give it a shot!

Or at the very least, try to get my wife to do it :monkey3

God, I wish I had Dane's headless Marty ready and waiting to go! :bow

I'd love to do a Marty bash, but I'd have to start at square one! This may have been asked before, but has anyone contacted Chad at SMCGcustoms about doing Marty's iconic clothing? (If enough people were potentially on board, he may do a vest, shirt, and jacket - like how he did Firefly dusters and other clothing when Trev's sculpts came about.) Just askin'....

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Dane it looks amazing bro. Well done. And I think Beeshaw's tip is a good one and will completely lift your bash into the perfection realm.

Wow, thank you guys!

I did indeed contact Chad (twice) regarding Marty (once about six months ago, and again a few weeks ago) to no avail :(

So, the denim jacket is custom made, but where did you get that amazing vest and the nikes, please?

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

A practically perfect bash. Bravo sir. :clap

Thanks Tim! :duff

The vest is from "Crazy Owners" bought on ebay (dyed red, removed stuffing, altered left side of collar), and the nikes are also from ebay (repainted/weathered) :duff

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Thank you, marfmaster! What body do you think is best option for Marty, please? That seems to be a hard choice with this...

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

This was Deckard's recipe from Spenser's Marty & Doc thread:

Body - Narrow Shoulder True Type
Jean Jacket - Ebay seller Davinciman
Jeans - ACI - Ebay seller 7Toys
Vest - Crazyowners - Ebay seller Davinciman
Red shirt - Hot Toys MJ Thriller (ebay)
checkered shirt - Ebay seller Minibarbie
80's Nike Hightops - Ebay seller Davinciman
Skateboard - Store-Rooms
Video Camera - Store-Rooms
Gibson Guitar - Ebay

Not sure how many of these pieces are still available anymore...

No problemo! Ideally I would use a TT Slim for Marty, but the parts that are out there for a bash (the ones I used anyhow) are all tailored for a narrow, and look ill-fitted on a slim.

Good find, MJ! Anyone wanting to bash a Marty should keep and eye out for the vest, denim jacket and checkered shirt. The rest is interchangeable.

What I've managed to put together so far

Still waiting for the shoes and other accessories in the mail.

I've modded them to fit the slim which is the body they are on in the picture.

Re: 1:6 "Out-A-Time Kid" headsculpt

Just remember it's burnt orange NOT RED!!! So don't over do it. I got mine just perfect. I also shorten it to fit a slim. I'm determined to fit my clothes on a slim. :lol
