This picture reminds me of the beginning to the hand to hand combat fight in Team America! :lol

just got my exclusive old ben. 1st impressions, right out of the box...best 1/6th scale sw figure to date. the head sculpt is freakin' awesome. i've been off sideshow for a bit and was disappointed in faramir, yavin luke, and bespin luke (my last 3 ss figures purchased) but this has me waving the flag again and hopeful of all the new stuff coming out. the paint apps are great and help, instead of bury, a superb sculpt. it's an absolutely outstanding likeness of my favorite sw character and looks almost spot on from the proto they showed. i don't feel like i ordered one product and got another. if anything i got a better one. way to go ss.

Yeah, me too. I got my UPS shipping notice today. My "Old Ben" is scheduled to arrive here on the 10th. I just hope that I'm home when he gets delivered!

Your pictures of him look great guys for you that have got him now! I can't wait to get mine.

That picture reminds me of Mr. Miyagi and Daniel Larusso practing the "crane kick" in Karate Kid!

I remember Miyagi saying "crane technique if done properly, no defend!"

I still LOVE that movie to this day! One of my personal favorites! :D

I'm pretty sure that's what he was going for there.

Well, it's been a long, strange, exciting, and rewarding journey to this point. 8000 posts, man, it pales to The Josh without question, but it does add up to a lot of talking out of me lol, although probably 4000 posts are just images.

That said, being part of this message board is one of the best things ever, and some of you have become good friends I'm proud and happy to know and this community has helped me to improve and expand upon my collection as well as grow as an artist.

Now, onto what most people are even going to read this post for haha. I am dedicating my 8000th post on these boards to Sideshow Collectibles and Trevor Grove. Most people know I'm an insane fan of Darth Maul, but Obi-Wan Kenobi is the Yin to my Maul Yang, and Sideshow and Trevor have produced 2 amazing collectibles based on this beloved character with an expertise and quality that is indescribable, thanks to everyone involved in these pieces, and especially Trev's amazing sculpt foundation on which these monumental pieces were built.

For Trev, here's an attempt to reflect the your inspiration for Obi-Wan in the Drew Struzan sketch you shared with us.

And to Sideshow and Trev, an homage piece of 2 amazing Obi-Wan based collectibles, as well as an interpretation of what I feel was running through Old Ben's mind as he took a contemplative moment, "Obi-Wan Kenobi? Obi-Wan..."

Thanks everyone.

For those who haven't seen the image I referenced, Trev mentioned in the Han thread that this Drew Struzan sketch was inspiring for him while working on Old Ben.

Congrats Sean! You're a real treat to have on this board and someone I do consider a friend. Thanks for so many great images.

WOW! What an 8000 post. I'm glad you waited for a special posting to unveil your ode to Obi. I'm sure Trevor will be honored with your dedication. You did an excellent job with this sketch.

Your photos never cease to amaze me but this one has such special meaning and your interpretation hit the nail on the head.

Thanks for sharing.
