I haven't been to this thread in forever because I thought this was going to be horrid, got to say, the pics are making it look sweet.

Got mine today. I think its my favorite trooper figure so far. A nice departure from the white clone and stormtrooper armors. Actually having some fabric is nice for a change. And I actually get a warm clothing feel from the figure. The guy could definitely fight in snow.

SSC Boba Fett was not a disapointment at all to me despite some inaccuracies again still, the figure gets more attention then my ROTJ Medicom Boba.

It's weird... looking at my last photo, it looks like the dome is totally rounded, but looking at the figure in person, it doesn't look so round. Maybe it's a trick of the lens or something.

While I wait for my remaining photos to make their way into my in box, here are my quickie thoughts on this guy: the smell that hits you upon opening the box is insane. Stronger than the smell of opening an old Marvel Legend. The figure works. The chest armor sits at an odd angle and those little straps that connect it to the backpack suck (and keep popping out) but overall, it's a Snowtrooper, plain and simple.

Try to change my mind all you like, but Darth Vader, in my opinion, was awful. Boba Fett was extremely disappointing. Bossk is great. This comes closer to Bossk than it does to Vader or Fett.

In closing, I offer you the following prediction of doom and gloom: I expect the new Vader to look exactly like it did at Comic Con and in that teaser photo: crappy. It does not matter how much we complain, Sideshow is going to do what Sideshow is going to do. All WE can do is not buy it if we don't like it.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Sideshow is going to change anything about Vader's helmet. At Comic Con, a Sideshow employee asked me to point out, exactly, what it was that I felt was wrong with Vader's helmet. I offered my opinion. I expect that opinion went in one ear and out the other.

The Vader they had on display at Comic Con looked like it had the same head as the ANH Vader: surprised-looking. If they fix it, great! I will buy it. If not, I'll be saving my money.

With the Snowtrooper, I'm glad I spent the coin.

Now that is a ****ING SNOWTROOPER!!!! Sure, the eye goggle area looks a little thick, with the lenses a tad small, but its 90% there,,,,

That is a great shot! Figure looks good to me...my only very small complaint is about the stand....wish they could've made the whole stand white...small thing, I know.

But...the detailing looks great...the helmet looks fine and the hands, well....they're called "gloves"....they look good to me.

Looks like sideshow is still on a roll...can't wait to see for myself next week when it arrives up here...

Has anyone gotten the e-web blaster cannon? The hose looks to be rubber or something, maybe silicone (hopefully). Anyone know exactly what it's made from, any official word from Sideshow? (If it's rubber I don't see it having a very long shelf life. Someone should make a mold of one now for future use before they all start to disintegrate). It doesn't smell like rubber and it has a feel, weight, like silicone does. So hopefully it will last.

To make it all white, I'll just be using on the Clone trooper exclusive stands, which will be covered by the little snow patch too.

I prefer all my clones to have the standard black stand to be honest.

Just un-box him a bit ago. I have to say I really don't understand what people are saying bad about him. As far as the hands this guy is made to fight in the snow. So he is going to have big gloves on. Same with his boots, etc.

I do love the new trooper smell.

Its definitely they eyes that make this look weird. I tried to make it a little better with
the paint app on my CPU but SS should have gotten this right. Totally a different figure
with the eyes corrected.

Extend the black area up, not down, and I think it would be better. Fixed shape is right though.


While the goggles/lens honestly look perfectly fine on the factory figure, I'm going to have a go at fixing this. Just not that huge of a job to not try it.

Hopefully if someone really nails it, we could all buy a cast of just the hard top part of the fixed helmet (dome, flare and goggles,) and BYO white shopping bag for the rest.
