woah! Artoo! I've got 3 fireballs but no melusine! That thing must be a beauty
Finally got some pics of the family portrait. The white helmet on the figure is just a temporary shell that will get built up with Magic Sculpt to match his Melusine brother. I might gring the knee pads more rounded to match as well? So many different directions this can go. :slap

Here's a pic of the back, magnets inset into resin then covered with thin sheet of styrene to hide.

Did the same to the back of the pack, inset mags and covered with styrene.

Work on pack, SW AT-AT component added to side along with other doodads.

Artoo that is gonna be so friggin cool looking :)

When i 1st sculpted the the shins/knee pads i did make them more rounded but it didn't suit the whole thing. But for you i would change them as it will look amazing. I would even be tempted to make the feet more rounded as well.

My only problem is that I can make most of this armor myself to match the Ma.k pieces. I feel bad modifying something that you guys put so much time into and is already so cool it doesn't need any work.
Where to draw the line? :dunno

WOW, I love Thundergods Marine it's just EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much better than the Art guy.

Just keeding Artoo, I love the different take you have made, can't wait to see what you come up with! :rock :hi5:
(Amazing stuff in your custom thread :lecture)

I love the creativity!!!!

damn there are some nice marines in these shots and that scout for the MaK looks great so far as well.

Cheers for the comments Artoo , love what your doing with your "variant " ! Those Melusine suits intrigue me , they are some seriously hefty bits of kit . Brilliant stuff ! As for the bass strings , I'm way ahead , luckily I've just re-stringed a bass and so have an old set to play with . ( Or not, if you see what I mean ):lol
Now I had a bit of a contest for forum members to guess the identity of the headsculpt ( there were about two guesses , hardly a landslide of responses !) which is a shame as the prize was a full set of Hot Toys IRON MAN Movie figures .
The answer was The Hulk . Shame that .
( Some of the above may not be true ):wink1:

i know nothing about war hammer the game but these are some awesome space marines!!!!!!!!!! i just makes you want to put one together keep the pics rolling guys really enjoying this thread.

As an artist you draw the line only when you've made the best possible job of the project you're working on:lecture
I see the base kit as a creative springboard and i'm sure Dorgs just like Cbob, doesn't have a problem with any of us making use of the kit, modifying or improviing it etc :wink1:
I love the fact some folk have played about and integrated the parts into their own unique vision. I've been lucky enough to have Cbob modify bits of the kit for me and I hope my Cyborg holds up alongside the other awesome works in this thread. I've stayed true to the basic design just because it was so well conceived by the guys and looks immense all built up. At the same time I've tried to get away from the Warhammer look and give it its own identity. I'm predicting If it all comes together, it'll be pretty epic:pray: ..."If" being the key word!

Seller on ebay back in '08. I briefly had money for a period where I could buy them, as he was selling 4 altogether, these were the two that I wanted most. Unfortunately I probably paid too much and couldn't get what I paid for them anymore. :monkey2

Thanks Skiman, just trying to do what I like without following the mainstream. :wink1:

Thanks Wanderer, made some big progress today. Just gotta let the epoxy cure overnight and get a primer coat on tomorrow, so hopefully in a few days an update. This statement made me feel better about what I'm doing, thanks. :1-1:
Looking forward to seeing your epic "IF". :)

Cheers Artoo. That means a lot. :) I'll be honest man, yours is the one I have anticiated most after we all got the kits and seeing the wip pics and your previous work like the Panzurai, I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like... :hi5:

Ah. Well I say it's money well spent. Those things are so cool. Really wish I could get my hands on one/ afford one.

Also started work on the purity seals for El Calvo.
Just used the casts of the shoulder studs I made... warmed them up then pushed a tiny skull into them...you can just about make out the skull.
