They look so cool :clap:clap

Also started work on the purity seals for El Calvo.
Just used the casts of the shoulder studs I made... warmed them up then pushed a tiny skull into them...you can just about make out the skull.

I have added some scuffs to the bucket and need to gloss the eyes... the helm fits really well over the head to.

The backpack has a few missed bits from the casting so I am gonna have it a wee bit damaged.....

I get really excited at this next bit as I love the weathering as it hides and imperfections and really brings it to life...

Hhaaa yeah I should do really :) as for the acetone humm I have never done it that way it's supposed to be straight forward but it would scare me a bit. If you send it to me I will make a shrink mould for you mate

Wow , they ALL look great Dorgs ! I agree with you about the weathering and damage , once you get into that area , the marine really comes to life . I'm about 99% finished with mine , I hope to be calling it a day with him this week , at least for the time being . I'll probably keep adding bits of weaponry and equipment from time to time ( you just know these things are never REALLY finished !) and I plan to build him a small diorama base . Next week I'll be embarking on Marine number two .
Anyone have any decent reference pics for the Grey Knights ?:wink1:

Ahhh man that is so cool!!!! any questions just ask man I am about most of the day and I will leave yahoo messenger if you have any stuff you want to ask straight away just add me Shyam.. its [email protected]

what bodies are you guys using for these kits? are the hot toys narrow shoulder tt bodies a bodies you can use?

I would suggest any TT with stiff joints, you want a wider shoulder if you can. I ave been using the ACI bodies as I can get them pretty cheap because you dont need the feet or pegs, neck or hands :)

hope that helps man.

^^^ thanks my man once my maximus kit comes in from spencer and i get that all finished up. i will be getting into this, for some reason i find myself more into the custom stuff than what hot toys is putting out right now, that's no knock on hot toys because their are things coming out from them that i will buy superman, jack sparrow ect.. maybe the fact that i can paint up the customs and they take a long time to finish, i guess it's the whole enjoyment i get while working on a custom that i can't get on a figure that's already put together.

I'm actually using an older type BBI body for my next marine .( I've got a few knocking round ) It'll take a bit of surgery in the ankles , wrists and neck areas , but as the armour limits movement , I reckon using an expensive body is not as essential as it is when doing another type of custom . Any extra work will be worth it as the slimmer limbs fit the armour very well .( This reduces time spent "dremmelling " the armour ) . That's the theory anyhow , if it all goes pear shaped you'll all no doubt be the first to hear about it ! :lol

I'm using a slightly modified SS Buck body. They come in handy when doing this kind of stuff since the armor limits articulation. I was actually getting ready to shoot some pics of the mods I've done, will get them posted in the next few days. No need to buy an expensive body.
