Maybe Finns plot is to easy to see if they show too much.

I would like to see him have his brainwashing turn back one and make him a bad guy Rey has to fight...

Probably plain and simple payback to the Empire (I mean First Order) for doing wrong. Undercover mission. Gets discovered. They blow up stuff then the showdown with Phasma while said stuff is blown up for drama/action.

I don't follow the logic - RO was a one-and-done (and is fading in lieu of the next ST movie,) and Cassian died, so can't reappear in a "set inside ESB" hard prequel (the way RO was "set inside SW.")

Poe is presumably in all 3 of the ST, and I'm guessing wears this pilot outfit in all 3, so isn't really comparable at all to Cassian.

Poe's continuing (and in the "mainline" SW movies,) Cassian isn't. Not saying Cassian wouldn't happen, I just don't see how Poe getting made indicates anything about Cassian.

...or Krennic.

I think the people who drop the money on the figures may be considered? As Rogue One was more in keeping with what older fans wanted and them being the ones more likely to spend $200+ on figures? Idk. A LOT of friends don't really care about the new trilogy whereas they loved Rogue One.
If The Last Jedi is good I'd consider this figure (pending headsculpt) but as with a lot of people..characters from Rogue One would be instant buys whereas I'd be more 50/50 with TLJ product.

I'd put myself in that camp for sure.

Jury is out on the new film, but if it is just OK then the Anthologies could be where it is at, for me at least.

Put me in the category of Poe being made making sense. Given it's likely he'll be in all 3 movies in the mainline sequel trilogy. And is a fairly strong supporting to main character.

And many fans I know are split: some prefer TFA and the ST, some were more into R1 - it's hard to say because it's all anecdotal.

Rogue One left me cold - I didn't much care for it at all, certainly not enough to buy a HT figure from it (in fact, the only R1 thing I own is Forces of Destiny Jyn, that's it) That's the opposite of how I felt with the ST and its characters.

This is where I'm at. I would 1000% pick up a Cassian and Krennic, but I don't know what I'd be willing to spend money on from TLJ, especially before I see the film. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy TFA, but Rey/BB-8 was my only purchase.

I guess OT stuff (which includes RO since it's technically part of that era of Star Wars) will just always take precedence with most Star Wars fans.

The Empire and the Rebel Alliance.

That will always take precedence over any Separatist/Republic/First Order/Resistance etc

Rogue One brought a mixture of new and old to that era. And I really enjoyed it.

I am waiting for Baze and the Tank Driver to go up and would also pick up Cassian and Krennic. I doubt I could pass on a Saw either.

I will get this Poe as it is the best look from the ST. No other interests me as yet.

They just teased him. The hype is on Thor right now. There have been plenty of figures that don't go up for PO for weeks after being teased. Tarkin, Anakin, Hoth Leia and Jedi Luke are just a few recently examples. Relax, he's coming.
