For 500$ in today`s market anwe would get his money back. Thats not bad. If I were to sell something from my collection I would have to earn money spent, back. Also be making about 100$ for it I would be well satisfied.

The SS Dewback Is the one for me. Not waiting or hoping for one from HT. The Sandtroopers from HT is the little army I am going to build up around a Dewback.
I would be interested in the Dewback, but not right now. I have to get the Tauntaun and Han before it sells out. I was on the fence when Dewback was in stock, but it got away. It is still bugging me.

After 3 years back in his box my Dewback is finally free again. Will be adding the Hot Toys Sandtrooper and keeping the sideshow ones. They still look good.

I already have gentle giant dewback and scout statue, and can't decide if I should add this to the collection. The prices on Ebay is very high $900 - $1,000. Should have bought it when it first came out.

Heh that is not the price they are going for! that`s what they are asking for. No way jose!
I also was on the fence when it came out, but missed it because of it. Either way I will spend time to get the decent after price.

Also had the GG in my mind long before the SS, but now its all about the SS one.

Is it really 1/6th scale?

There's always quite a bit of interpretation/play room when it comes to certain creatures like this one.

In the original unedited film version, the Dewback is shown being ridden in the background and probably was a bit bigger (due to problems they had with the animatronics). In the Special Edition, the original Dewback is replaced with a CGI version that looks closer to the Sideshow version. Also, according to Star Wars mythology, the Dewback (like many creatures) varies in size.

As cool as I think this version looks, I always have reservations on releases like this as there is no articulation and you are left with your nicely articulated figures seated on statue.

Think of it like a building. There's no articulation in a wall, but one can still look nice to pose with your figures. It's a great piece and to do articulation right would require something completely different, not something like Hasbro did. Basically creating an endoskeleton/frame onto which to build the exterior.

The Dewback by Sideshow is pretty cool. Wish I would have been into 1/6th at the time as I probably would have gotten one. Prices now are way too ridiculous to even consider getting one.

Join me in wishing for a HT Dewback. :)

$900 is just ridiculous. I'd maaaaybe pay $500-600. It's a sweet piece and would look awesome with the HT Sandtrooper. Honestly can't believe I'd even consider $600. But it is pretty damn big.

I own the GG statue, it is fantastic. One of the 2 reasons I didn't get the SSC Dewbie. The other reason is I don't have a place for displaying it - in a way I might have had, but that place is taken by the EFX TE Fighter studio scale

That was my exact reason for not getting the SS Dewback when it was released. My GG Dewback is still my favorite out of the entire collection. Getting another Dewback seems to take away from it. Although the SS Dewback is very well done indeed. Also, it is just way over what I'm willing to pay for at this point.

Brow on the trooper is too low; ab plate is stormie, not sandtrooper, missing diamond-shaped knee plate. Don't get me started on the paint apps and general proportions.

Also kind of clean for a sandtrooper. Time for the "dewback" to take a roll in the dirt.
