Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Looks pretty dang cool but he was never a character I ever thought twice about or really cared about so I'll pass.

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

bossk needs to be the next one.............:lecture

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Exclusive ordered... a bit of sticker shock, but given the complexity of the figure I'm okay with it.

Here's to hoping the base is part of a build 'n connect design for the Executor. That would be cool and a great sign of more bounty hunters to come. I'd be happy to buy them all; including the armored diaper :lecture

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Exclusive ordered. This piece is sheer perfection as far as I'm concerned. Just amazing! I love OT bounty hunters, so this piece is a must own on top of being a must own.

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Just nabbed the ex. version and chiseled away $36 off the price with points - WAHHOOOO! :yess: The light up eyes feature was an awesome surprise and helped justify the higher price point in my mind. Well, that and the crazy amount of detail work on every single facet of this figure!! I always thought the Hasbro IG-88 was one of the greatest 12" figures they ever made, and now SSC has effectively pushed it off the playing field for good.

I'm intrigued by the deluxe light-up base that was mentioned...but not pictured. Is this part of the "Star Destroyer bridge environment" that people have been talking about? Will each bounty hunter that SSC makes come with a base that's part of the enviro and you build it over time (like the Hasbro 3 3/4" Cantina bar?)

I think the vibro-axe may have come from the Clone Wars episodes with the IG assassin droids in it.

That seems like a VERY reasonable assumption to me. As far as I know, the mines they included with IG-88 seem to be inspired by the mines used by the IG lancer droids in the CW microseries. Looks like SSC was trying to trim this guy with all the 'character appropriate' bells and whistles they could cram in. I expect a similar approach to deluxe Vader...

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

This is now my favorite SS figure to date! The 4th quarter can't come soon enough! :panic::panic:

Now where's that Deeznuts guy saying that all SS is making is clones and that they dropped the ball with Star Wars. :nana:

He's playing with his nuts and whining about something.

So orderd this!!

Will have to cancel an item or two but those are the breaks.

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

though i have no interest in this, WOW! this turned out a heck of a lot better than I thought it would! it looks freaking fantastic!!! though the new prices kind of scare me. Zartan at $160, this at $175. I can only imagine Grievous will be up there as well

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

are we to assume that the 14 1/2" height is with the legs being fully extended?.........that's what i assume but ..........:dunno

That is my guess as well... and pretty similar to the Hasbro figure. The legs extended until the wires were tightened up and he ended up being around 14" tall.

But, as nice as the Hasbro figure is with a repaint... the detail on this by far blows it out of the water, not to mention the increased articulation and light up feature.

I need to sell by Bossk fast before Sidehow releases their version :impatient:

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Technically, he comes from a line of sentinel droids used in the Clone Wars, so he is actually military in origin.

Bah! :pfft: MOVIES > EU.

IG-88 is a bounty hunter. He's right, all of the bounty hunters (him included) should technically be designated "Scum & Villainy". It's an unfortunate oversight, but won't bother me as I'm displaying him open anyway. :lol

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Man, the more I look at this, the more I notice the detail and the more impressive it is. Definitely props to the Artists at SS for the great work and for really taking some risks, but also taking their time to get it right.

At this point, everything is slated for 4th quarter and it's killing me! Wouldn't be sad to see a few pieces pushed back into 1st QTR next year and give my wallet a chance to recover a bit.

Gonna have to agree with you... IG-88 is a bounty hunter, maybe the other droids of his type aren't, but this guy should be a scum and villainy as I imagine the other bounty hunters will.

No need for the EU to dictate where an OT figure would go :huh

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Agreed. That'd be like EA Sports basing their video game player models and stats after players on the walk-on/practice squad instead of the actual team.

Or like Sideshow basing a character's figure designating from a silly recent kids cartoon instead of the actual film we've known him from for 31 years. :lol

Re: 1/6th Scale IG-88 Figure

Can't see any reason to pass on this guy if you're a fan... the figure looks all kinds of badass :lecture

Sideshow has definitely stepped up their game... now if they can just paint 1/6 human faces better I'll be one happy mofo :lecture
