My local source finally put Boba up for pre-order. Not expected to land here before late spring though.

What's with the OT tittybabies pissing in every thread? Jesus, get over it already. :lol

lol, good point.

I am happy with my OTC Hasbro Boba, never picked up the Medi so I'm really happy Sideshow is making him.

It would have been really cool if they put LED or something to make the effects of the lights on his chest armor. well I would have liked it.

I would've preferred that to the base actually. :goodpost:

It's such a small detail but all those minor details add up to awesomeness.

Hopefully if they ever do R2 or 3PO they think about that and make them with at least light up features.

How important these light-up features really are? Do people display the figures all lit up? Not bashing, it's a serious question.. I think I'd rather see them taking away the lights and lowering the cost.. The only time I ever use the lights, on any figure, be it SW, Transformers, or any others, is when I first open them.. Or sometimes show it to a friend.. But beyond that, who cares, really? Wouldn't you rather have a cheaper price tag?

I just got Ghost Rider and I agree, I'll likely not light-him or the motorcycle up much, mainly because the figure is a b___h to try to light up.

At the end of the day they're just gimmicks that jack up the price and will be used a few times, or occasionally used at best. Plus, it's just something else to worry about as a leaky battery can have severe repercussions on the longevity and value of a figure. I'm worried that when the droids come out, the same gimmicks will be used to push them up into the Medi range. :monkey1

I love the HT GR..
Have the Hasbro Ultimate GR myself, and I must say that for $60, it displays great.. And if I had the HT, I still won't display it with the lights on, so essentially they look very similar really.

yeah, pretty much a gimmick. but adds a little more to the figure as far as awe factor. not necessary but cool. I still love pressing the button on my hasbro Emperor and hearing him saying "strike me down with all of your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete." I love the cheesy gimmicks!!!

I feel the same way, and think it really hurt that HT Ghostrider. That figure does look great if you light it up in a dark room, but the batteries in mine started dying after about 3 hours, so. . .yeah, 99.99% of the time they'll be posed without the gimmicks, and so I prefer to get something that looks the best it can be without the use of the gimmick (e.g., painted flames on Ghost Rider instead of the cheaper looking translucent plastic). If companies want to throw in a light up something or other, a spring loaded missile, or a gun that shoots water, fine, but please don't hurt the non-gimmicky look of the figure in the process. I don't really care so much with Boba since the base in an unnecessary accessory, except that I would easily preferred, say, $25 off the price if he didn't have the light-up base.

Haters!!! lol.

Just Kidding. I agree with you guys. light up works on some but not on all.

I do agree about the Boba base, although its really cool. I would have much rather paid $25 less. I really don't use the special bases on any of my figs. Mark VI Battle base base in the box, Spiderman Big Block thing/base in the box. Hall of Armor style base that came with Mark IV in the both. I do use the DX bases for the DX01 and the DX02 but I would rather have a regular style base for them to keep consistency. I prefer some consistency on the bases being the regular ones. Allthough I do like use the exclusive bases that I got with the clones and that will come with Boba.

Actually the translucent look can be enhanced with the indoor lighting to look pretty good. If painted...I'd think GR's head would look more like a orange spikey thing. If you place GR infront of a lamp it gives a good effect.

If IG-88 has lights in his noggin then C-3PO and R2 will definitely have them as well. Not to mention Medicom included that feature which means Sideshow will have to follow suit or be accused of bunting.

personally i think a light up c3po & r2-d2 is essential, but only those two. lights can't be that much more can they?

well maybe a jawa as well when they get around to them..........:yess:
