I remember why the Star Wars section is so totally unlike any other section on the board. It is the only place where extreme hyperbole and frank rudeness is described as a "well thought out critique". :lol

Have you been to DC forum lately... :lol Honestly this place was pretty civil until the first in-hand pics of Boba showed up and caused all this ruckus.

Also nowhere near as hostile as the Hot Toys Indy thread got...I think that thread was actually locked at one point.

Other than JML taking and posting truly terrible pictures, I find the SW section to be rather pleasant. Thank you very much.

Someone needs to make one of those "Hitler discovers.." parody videos that are always poping up on YouTube about this figure.
:nana:
That would be great, haha.

Thinking about the vest, anyone else worry that heating the vest to try and bend the plates might cause the plates to detach? I'm thinking the reason they changed the underlying fabric was because it was easier to attach the plates or they held better in place once attached. I'd kinda be worried that heating it might cause the glue or whatever they used to loosen.

If there's no way to futz the vest, hopefully one of the customizers here is able to tailor a new vest and reattach the plates from the old vest to the new.

It's the din.

Honestly a lot of negativity about a figure can kind of suck the life out of getting it. I was happy enough with the Yavin Luke. It was certainly no masterpiece, but anytime you posted a pic of it people just pissed and moaned. Just took a bit of the fun out of getting the figure.

Yavin Luke. I had Les repaint it into something that I thought was pretty cool but everytime I posted it it would spark moaning. I think that was the last time I really went out of my way (until the Hobbit heads) to post pics on this site. :monkey2

I don't think there's anything wrong with legitimate criticism, though. If you're happy with the figure, I don't know why you'd care that others have some issues. *shrugs* I agree sometimes it gets a little overheated but for the most part the discussion is pretty rational.

I don't think it's so much the criticism as it is the constant repetion of said criticism that grates on people's nerves.

I'm not sure if this just because people like to hear themselves talk or if it is intended to convert the "yay sayers" or what?

You can say it looks like he is wearing a life vest as many times as you like, I'm still gonna get him and look forward to it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to voice that opinion...but how many times does one need to voice it?

The problem with that is that it works both ways, in terms of those having criticisms also finding those that ignore/minimize the problems equally grating, and I guess feel the need to say so.

It's also a little odd that the "yay sayers" are only OK with their own opinions being reinforced and anyone with a different opinion is a nuisance or a "troll".

At this point, I'd agree in-so-much that after seeing the figure, it's time to either decide to get it or not (which I am) and figure out ways to correct what Sideshow messed-up, rather than beating a dead horse.
