Thanks for the suggestions. I have a few tools left in the box I still need to add. Funny you mention the knee pads. They're technically over the knee joint there, but they could be a bit higher. I had to run out tonight, but tomorrow I'm gonna set up my stuff and take some better pics with good lighting.

Lemme know if there's a specific detail you guys would like a clear pic of.

You mean the lower joint of the knee (there are two joints) - otherwise that's the longest thigh in the history of 1/6!

Those knee pads do seem way low.

Bummer on the vest removal. So much for an easy fix. Not sure I'm up for heating that lower armor piece with the vest still on the fig.

No, I didn't say it was without issues but neither is the Medicom that people are praising and making it sound so far superior to the SS one. The Sideshow one is far from a "fail" though.

I have a longer list of issues and inaccuracies with the Medicom one than the SS one.

:goodpost::exactly::clap

Seriously, there is no comparison to the Medicom. The Medi has the belt as part of the codpiece sculpt, whereas it's fabric on the SSC. The details of the jumpsuit are far superior as well and the colors are much truer or seem much truer to the on-screen colors.

Does the vest poof a bit? Yes. I also prefer the doll hair the scalps are made of on the Medi, rather than the yarn used for the SSC. But overall the SSC is much better.

So you have this product in hand and can offer a valid critism? Or are you basing your opinion on pictures?

Enough people who have the figure in hand have pointed out the issues. Why would you expect someone to pay $175 + shipping just to verify it themselves? To some people the issues matter, to some they don't and for others they will do mods to make it right. Which are you? :peace

I think the lighting in your shots is fine. As for more pics, well, just some different poses, maybe a few from the back and side, whatever you want to go with...your efforts are appreciated, especially by those of us with a bit of a wait ahead before Fett shows up... thanks!

Hey guys, any one else planning on switching this over to a HT truetyp?

Im seriously thinking about it, even though you really shouldnt have to...Will wait and see once it is in hand...Almost all my SS GI Joe figures got switched to True Types...Im just not a huge fan of the SS body, dont know why...

Maybe if the protype was what we got then i'd agree. But i feel you're speaking with SS bias on your tongue. Both Fetts are far from perfect, but i don't think it takes someone with X-ray specs to see the Medicom is the better Looking figure.

As i visit other forums that seems to be the general consensus... Till i come here.

Enjoy your Fett guys!

I like how you keep showing the least flattering picture of the Sideshow figure and you compare it to the ROTJ Medicom fett..not biased at all.

Please list them. Even if it's in the Medicom thread. I know how much you detest the yarn belt and the jetpack mounting points, but I'm very interested in the other inaccuracies.

What details of the jumpsuit are you referring to exactly?

You should really have a look at real pics of the suit regarding your comment on color. They can be found over at The Dented Helmet. Thousands of them.

Any side by side pics of the Medi-Fett (hopefully the ESB version ) and the Sideshow-Fett?
I didn't pre-order this one as I'm happy with the Medi-Fett I have (ESB) and I somehow felt the proportions on the Sideshow one were somewhat odd.
Hopefully Sideshow fix any issues for the ROTJ version.

i think fett looks good, but i might dye the vest to match the jumpsuit like the proto pics... if i ever get my shipping notice...

All I know is I can pose my Medi ROTJ in many different poses and he looks great. This Boba has to hide his midriff for the camera or he looks terrible. I only have two Medi and a dozen armored Sideshow Star Wars figures and love all of them. However, I am still pissed at how this figure came out:mad:. I can't understand anyone seeing this outdoing the Medi for the life of me:dunno

But it's not supposed to be the same colour.
Yeah, was going to say that after people posted screen shots of ESB Boba that the new, non-matching colour is more accurate. Ideally the boxiness of the vest is going to annoy some Freak or Scummer to the point that they offer a custom in which the plates are removed and added to a new vest.

I'm not too concerned by movie accuracy so much, the prototype pictures sold me on it, but the off colour vest just doesn't appeal to me regardless of its pseudo film accurate aesthetic.

Yeah, I concur in that I would definitely prefer the inaccurate prototype to the production piece. Like many others, it was the proto, along with HT Bespin Luke and IG-88, that drew me into this line.

When I joined the forums at the time, the conventional wisdom was that production Boba would be at least as good as the proto, due to the popularity of the character, along with the asking price (Boba being only the second character @ $175.00). A big part of my decision to place a non-refundable deposit with my LCS was based on those proto pics. So lesson learned. I'm going to pick-up this Boba in the hopes that some enterprising individual can provide a fix but I won't be putting myself again in the position of trusting Sideshow's production piece to live up to the proto.
