Got mine last night, haven't had much time to play with him, but some quick thoughts.

First, I'm so glad they moved the light switch on the base, someone was listening.

Overall the figure is really nice, I like the weathering, and once I got his elbows turned around (they were on backwards), he moves very well. He also feels like a fairly solid figure, I was worried that all the little antenia etc would be quite fragile, but he's stood up to my manhandling him to get the elbows switched and the backpack on.

I had a heck of a time getting the backpack to hook on, one hook seems a bit narrower on mine. I pulled the vest tighter with the velcro, and then promptly pushed the chest armour our of the vest at the front. It's in for now, but as most here have said the plastic underneath seems to be the real culprit to the boxiness, it holds in the pegs. I'm not sure what a better solution for this would be though.

I'm surprised the armor wasn't just glued on the vest... that seems like it would have been the easiest solution in production. Although I imagine that could lead to a lot of misaligned pieces and ones falling off :huh

I'll definitley be doing the warm water trick to reshape the back plate; I'm confident I can do it w/o any serious damage. And so far Billy Rays method is the least intrusive and in pics look the best.

Great pics, rubio95. Have to admit now the futzsers were right and the fix is easier than I thought it would be. Just saw red the other day when thinking about taking the vest into a tailor to get modified. :p Think I'll either go with rubio's method of cutting as much of the plastic away as possible (only leaving some around the 'weld' points) or VASith's scoring suggestion and then some gentle water treatment. He's definitely looking more and more like the proto with each new batch of pics. Great work, everyone that's taken the time to modify and record your work.

Yeah, I think like Silent says, the plastic backer with weld points for the plates was a really ingenious solution, just poorly applied in this case. I imagine they'll learn from this when they make ROTJ Boba or Jango, for that matter.

Yeah, just making sure the bottom pate and the backing is slightly curved will make all the difference.

Kind of like the Stormtrooper armor.

i think i may try a combination of uncle dave's stitching mod, the boil & bending of the bottom armor plate & a form of cutting out pieces of the inner plastic liner like cokebabies pic shows.

between the 3 methods he's bound to look 3x better........:lecture

The only thing I don't like about the sewing method is it seemed to make the bottom of the vest not line up properly at the seam. With the other two methods the vest did not look different except that it fit better.

Well, with the mods to the vest this figure is looking better and better! I feel sort of tempted to get one with all the nice shots showing up, but I think I'll wait for the inevitable ROTJ version.

ESB Boba > ROTJ Boba

ESB Boba caught Han Solo. ROTJ Boba caught a raw deal.

Well, one was cast in 2007 (Medicom). The other in 2012 (SideShow).

I think that the variances that you're pointing out are simply 'flash' and the fact that they were made at least 5 years apart kinda supports that. Plus, recasts tend to have softer lines/details than originals.

It's no big deal, just interesting. Has anyone else noticed that the blaster rifle seems just a bit underscaled for Boba Fett? His pinky hangs off of the bottom. Again, no biggie, just interesting.

Maybe they look so close because they're both modeled after the same pistol? :dunno

i like the tighter look of the vest but i'll try the easier of the 3 first before the sewing method. if the first 2 work to my liking i'll stop there.
