He's here. I will post a pic or two later. Looks great but I'm gonna have to mod it a little due to the neck/shoulder armor overlapping the chest armor slightly. I was actually just planning on leaving the vest alone but since I'm gonna be taking off the armor anyway I might play around with that as well.

Has anyone else noticed that the triangles above the visor are painted and not sculpted? I know Silent Surfer mentioned that on the proto they were missing and he painted them on and wasn't sure how they would arrive on the production model. No big deal, Boba rocks either way.:yess:

Mine was originally scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, but is now out for delivery today. :yess:

Not sure if I'll be doing any mods to mine once I have him in hand. Anyway, thanks for the mod info and pictures guys.

Interesting detail. While there are certainly subtle differences, it is unusual that the two guns have the exact same proportions throughout.

It's possible Lucasfilm has a computer model of some of this stuff that can be licensed for use by various manufacturers (to keep things accurate and keep conformity,) but sort of unlikely.

I noticed SSC contracted a third party model-making company to design/build the e-web cannon, so maybe they did approach Medicom to save a couple of bucks on this one!

Who knows, maybe the Medi was a copy of the Marmit...

Not quite. Look closer. The one on the right has more rounded edges while the one on the left has more chiseled ones. The muzzle tip is larger on the one on the right, and the little groove on the front of the stock below the barrel are at slightly different angles. The one on the right has a longer barrel. Some of the proportions are a little different, like the gap between the grip and the upper part of the frame. They are very close, though.

Took a few shots out of the box. Not a huge fan of his vest being so clunky and I need to adjust a few things but... it's still Boba freaking Fett.

Comparison to the 2nd Hasbro 12". I need to dig for the pin head 12" figure.

Is it impossible to get him in a decent two-handed rifle firing pose?

So far, yes. The rigidity of the chest armor/vest assembly and articulation of the arms (they don't seem to be able to cross over the chest very well) prevents Fett from being able to point his rifle straight, whilst holding it with both hands.

In addition to this, the problem I had last night was that the arms of the body (is this the Prometheus?) are too short (plus the design and the material used for the gauntlets doesn't allow much movement of the ball-jointed wrist), and don't seem to be able to tuck the rifle stock under the elbow.

I'm at work, I plan to keep messing with it tonight.

Also, I wanted to make a pic request.

Whichever SideShow body this is, does anyone have a pic of it nude? It seems to have very wide hips and short arms. But covered in all the layers of hard and soft parts, it's kind of hard to tell what it looks like, or exactly where the joints are.

I would appreciate it if someone could snap a pic or two. Thanks in advance.

So the main issue with the armor looking a bit wonky is just that the ab plate is too straight and needs to be given a bit of a curvature, correct? I read through the last few pages, but might have missed something.

NO NO NO NO NO

The ab armor is supposed to be straight - it shouldn't be bent. The vest needs taking in, that's the only problem. I hate to see wrong information becoming the accepted line.

I'm not 100% sure but I think this is it:

That is true... however as slight curvature to the ab armor allows the underlying plastic to also curve and thus the issue is eliminated. It's a pretty small amount of curve and I don't think will hurt the overall aesthetic at all.

I was able to crack him open over lunch... really awesome figure! The boxy chest really isn't as bad in person and is something you could easily hide with posing... but since its also fixable I'll still do that.

I did try the hot water trick over lunch, but was unable to get it pliable enough to get the curve I wanted. So some improvement over the stock, but not complete. I left it in hot water for 5, 10, 20 and then 30 seconds and at none of those times did the underlying plastic melt or warp uncontrollably... but the ab armor also failed to become as pliable as I wanted; so I'll go a bit longer after work and see what happens.

This was the first test; a bit better but not 100% satisfied. It is definitely sitting closer to the body, but I think I can get it just a bit more.
