I’m not a fan of that sculpt but a paint job might be an improvement. I used the DX sculpt on mine.

I did try the DX hairsculpt on the original sculpt and it is an improvement I think.

That is definitely an improvement, did you mod it yourself? I’m not sure where I would begin tbh

Yes. All mods done by me. I did them with the intention that I did not want to ruin the DX sculpt in any way so everything I did was to accommodate the preservation of that sculpt.

I first removed the cloth scarf from the head and then I boiled the hat to make it easier to get the face out. I had to trim or shave the inside of the hat parts so the DX sculpt would fit. I also added a piece of metal that the magnet on the sculpt to attach to so it would be easier to swap out the hat for the hair when I wanted. I think I still have pics I can provide.

I still wanted to be able to use the PERS system so the magnet solution seemed like the best bet. Trimmed out the inside of the hat enough for the forehead to fit inside.

I also glued the strap a bit more together and overlapping so it would be tighter to the chin.

I never liked the snaps on the vest or the pants because it looked like they were always busting to get open so I removed the snaps and added Velcro discs and I am much happier with the way it turned out.

I should also mention that I swapped the body with a DX Luke body to make everything easier on the head swap and body proportions. Also the DX ankle pegs fit nicely into the sideshow boots.

It's only a matter of time until HT bring out their own Hoth Luke. I'll probably convert my Luke into a Hoth rebel trooper when it happens. I don't understand why SS don't bring out a Hoth trooper, about 75% is the same as the Luke figure. They already have the moulds for the backpack and rifle from the old Endor trooper.

Considering they made THREE Endor Troopers so early in their SW offerings, this is a mystery.

Sorry to dreg up an old part of this post, but dexter can you show us what youve got to the right just off the screen there. Id love to see more of the set up. Sadly i slept on hoth han and luke and then about a year later blew a chance to get them for 160 each (ex's both) cuz i got distracted and someone else scooped them when i saw them on evilbay.

That must be the 1/4 scale speeder bike.
...but damn. That tauntaun looks awesome. That is my must have at the moment. I managed to get both Han and Luke, but the tauntaun I still need...

Yes, me too. Got all but the tauntaun now though. I was patient and recently found good deals on all of them. ...but not the tauntaun. Want it so bad!

According to your guys that are the most important issues/fixes and tips/tricks surrounding this particular figure? Body OK? Clothes fit OK? Any way to optimize its looks beyond the usual stuff? (water treatment, etc).

Body is too tall, if you also get hoth han just swap the bodies. Only other eyesore for me are the buttons of his coat are huge and can be seen pretty easily like the old 12" hasbro figures. Otherwise its great if you have the hat on. The likeness isnt great but not the worst I've seen either.

I am considering swapping the two bodies. Do you remember how big a difference there is between them? ...they are wearing so many layers that it has to be worth the effort ;-)

From memory, 1/4 inch, maybe even 1/2 inch. It was very noticeable when they were standing side by side, the swap is easy. Besides the clothes will probably fit better when you redress them yourself.
